Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
There are three championship courses at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, all of which were designed by Pete Dye. Snow Mountain is the original course, joined by Sun Mountain, which is considered the easiest of the three, and Wolf is the newest and most challenging.
At over 7,600 yards, Wolf is also the longest course in Nevada but Snow Mountain is quite lengthy as well at 7,146 yards. Dye incorporated his signature railroad-tie bunkers and water comes into play on seven holes. This risk-reward layout is known for having the best par-3s at the resort. One of these is the stunning 16th hole with its panoramic view of Sheep Mountain. It requires a long carry over water but the bailout area to the right provides a relatively easy up and down and the greenside bunkers don't usually come into play.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Nu-Wav-Kaiv Course.

First Ace!
This is my second time at Paiute Golf Resort. The first time I played all 3 courses during my visit and found Snow Mountain to be my favorite. So today I went out and played Snow again and it was just as perfect as my first visit from 3 years ago . But this time I got my first hole in one on the 4th hole from the white tees. Norm who is a Marshall for the course was actually on his day off and was playing in my foursome. He accompanied me to the Pro Shop to get recognition for my Ace. I was told they would mail me a souvenir plaque and a flag. Today was the best experience I have ever had playing golf and will always remember this day.
Beautiful day for golf
This is a course that brings water into play on 5 holes. Some interesting shots. We played from the White tees as we are14/15 handicap golfers. Course is manageable from those tees. Greens were sometimes confusing to read, uphill versus downhill. Balls hitting on green generally”stuck”.
There was some clouds out and made for beautiful views of the mountains.
We ate breakfast there and it was good and plentiful. Spend some time there after your round and enjoy the view of the 18th hole.
We normally play one of the three courses. The Wolf is a great course but probably too tough for me to feel competitive.
Great Course
First time driving outside the city limits and so glad we did. Excited to try the other courses there.
Worth the trip
We play the snow course and the greens were 13 on the stimpmeter. The green were impossible to hold and it made for a challenging round. The staff was great and they even got us out for a second round. I am a 14 and shot 89 from the tips. Is worth the short drive to play this gem.
This was the best golf course I played during my stay in Vegas
It’s more than I expected.
Weather was beautiful in April.
Friendly staff and all the players were very nice and quiet.
The only downfall would be the pro shop closes early and I wasn’t able to get a souvenir.
Must play this course
We are the first of 8 t off after 10 hole the rain came it was so cold we just rushed to finish the rounds. The staff kind enough give us half of the rain check. We got to the second round later that day with better weather.
Great experience breathtaking views…
Greens are slick like ice no wonder why it’s called Snow…. The Wolf course booked solid but this was not disappointing must bring your A-game!!
Photos can't describe the course
It is a true golf experience. At first, while you were in the highway, GPS indicated the Paiute was just besides us and all we could look was the desert and the mountains in the backdrop. Where is this course? Only when you are approaching the clubhouse you will notice that the course is "hidden" by carefully desert elevations that carefully bowls the fairways and greens. The design is fantastic and the wind howling in the desert made the golf quite challenging. Beautiful, well maintained fairways, fast greens. Loved the experience and certainly we will be back to try the other courses.
