Desperado/Diablo at Badlands Golf Club

Loved the courses, played in August in Vegas which means that the course isn't crowded. I felt challenged throughout and had a blast. Very difficult hole layout with many carries over the desert, the only thing holding me back is that there wasn't any water provided on the course that we could see/find. Playing in the desert in the summer comes with a certain modicum of knowledge that you need water. We brought some with us, but I expected at least a cooler or two at some of the tee boxes. If they were there, and I didn't see them, my apologies, but neither I nor my playing partner found them.

Still, great course in a great location and loved my time out there.

Had a great time at Garlands, conditions good..greens nice but a bit slow. I would give a 5 star if the greens rolled more true. Really give it a 4.5 star if that was possible.

The Badlands are what most golfers want. Fair but challenging course. Staff was friendly and welcoming but my biggest problem was focusing because of the beautiful scenery. Wow is the best word to describe the view from many of the tee boxes!

Picked up a "hot deal" on golfnow.com, 2 green fees for $62 - super value. 3 9-hole course complex Desperado/Diablo/Outlaw, we were assigned the first two. Even though there is GPS talk to the starter about what holes go which way...many blind tee shots and you do not require driver off all tees. Many forced carries and missing the fairway gets you into desert waster area's where your ball ought to be a donation as entry is steep and rock (albeit very pretty) but better just let it go and re-load. Amazing scenery if you like desert views and monster homes...very upscale neighbourhood. Would benefit from playing the first time and will go back but was frustrated with the lack of local knowledge. Good practice area and putting green...course was in great shape...will definitely paly again!

This is a Target Desert Golf Course that's 80% par 4 NON Driver required. Sets up for a sucker golfer who thinks they should use a driver on a par 4 thats almost all are 300yds. avg.
Great condition for a dry & Hot desert course, did I mention that it's HOT...Play early morning to avoid both Heat exhaustion and heavy winds this time of the year. Otherwise this place have good service from beginning to end and Bob gets a 5 star rating on his services. Thanks Bob.

The course itself was nice, challenging and in overall good condition , straight target golf but:
They had a skeleton staff where the gal at the snack bar was also checking in groups and No cart service which coulda been helpful when it's 100 degrees outside!! I was only glad I got the hot deal from Golf Now, otherwise I prolly wouldn't have played it.

This course has a couple of holes on the Desperado and Diablo that killed my round. I played with a couple of scratch players and they had trouble with the same holes. The gentleman who plays the course regularly called the holes, stupid. I guess that is why the course is named: Badlands. If you want a challenge: Badlands. If you want a course to have an enjoyable experience, Not Badlands.

Good course, it was fun and challenging. There are many holes where it is best to leave the driver in the bag and hit an iron for better placement. You need to be accurate and straight on your iron shots. The greens are fairly fast but manageable. I chose this course because it was a deal on golf now and I feel like I got a really good deal on the course, In fact I just signed up to play it again tomorrow!!

OVERALL COURSRE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE, GREENS WERE IN GREAT CONDITION RUNNING ABOUT 10 AND RAN VERY TRUE, FAIRWAYS WERE GOOD WITH A FEW BAD SPOTS HERE AND THERE, BUNKERS NEEDED TO BE RAKED, TEE BOXES GRASS WAS A LITTLE HIGH, PLAYED FROM THE BLUE TEES, COURSE IS CHALLENGING, HIT A BAD SHOT AND YOU WILL BE PUNISHED, MOST FAIRWAYS WERE GENEROUS IN WIDTH, SOME GREENS PROTECTED BY DESERT ARROYOS AND WATER , LARGE GREENS WITH ALOT OF UNDULATIONS

As a LV local, I've driven past the Badlands course many times, but never played there. The course was in great condition and the staff I encountered was very friendly. Since I went in the middle of the day on a Wednesday, the course wasn't crowded at all and I wasn't pushed by any groups nor did I ever have to wait to let a group clear a hole before teeing off.

Overall, it was a great experience, although the Desperado course I played on the front nine was very challenging for the level of golfer I am. There are several holes that required carrying over a canyon or having a small landing area. That's a me problem, not a course problem though. The back 9 (Outlaw course) played much easier. The course is very scenic and has some great holes. The staff was friendly and was very helpful. The only suggestion I would have to improve the experience would be to have a course map in the cart, especially for the holes where you couldn't see the green from the tee box.

Starting with the starter, Bob,we received great help. At the turn he got us more ice and at the conclusion of the round he had me drive the cart to our car, he went with me, so we could load without any trouble. Great guy.

My boyfriend and I played 27 holes of golf and had an absolutely incredible time. The course has a lot of challenging holes but can easily be played by a new golfer. The golf carts are equipped with GPS which was very helpful in navigating the course. The temperature was about 110 degrees but strangely enough it did not feel that hot! Plenty of water and ice for us to remain hydrated. We had the course pretty much to ourselves. Looking forward to playing it again!

As a local, I think this is one of the best courses in Las Vegas. 3 distinct 9 hole layouts provide variety, challenge and views of the valley and the Strip. Desperado has forced carries over canyons and valley and really forces you to think out your shots. A true thinking man's course. Not the muni you have at home. One of my favorite courses in Vegas and a must play if you're in town. Very reasonable rates, friendly professional staff and nice practice areas. Greens were some of the nicest I've played with true roll and a stimp of around 9-10 I would guess. Highly recommend.

Course Management and shot selection are key to successful round. OfCourse, putting always crucial. :-)

Course is in great shape and it's a course that makes you think of every shot once you approach your ball!!!

Very slow. 5 1/2 hours. But would play agian

I've played this course many times before but it has never been in this great of shape. Greens were nice and smooth. We had a 10:50 tee time and got there about 8:45 hit some balls at the range and putted on a nice smooth putting green. Then told the starter we were ready so whenever you got a space. He said your on the tee then. It was about 9:30. Which was great because it was suppose to be 106 that day. Our threesome went out and we were finished in 3:30 hours without having to wait one time.

I play all over the valley. It is clear the the owners are trying to sell this place. Fairways were poor little or no grass, greens were not any better. I have played here in the past but I will say this is the worst shape I have ever seen this course. People save your money and play almost anywhere else.
The indoor facilities are in poor repair (womens bathroom)
Please do not spend your money, there are so many great venues with great value.

Husband and wife intermediate golfers played Desperado-Outlaw. Very difficult target golf course but also interesting. Take lots of golf balls!

Fairly wide desert course. If you miss the fairway you are likely un-playable. And when the wind blows, it can be tough hitting greens and fairways.
