Greens and bunkers in bad shape
We haven't had any rain in a couple of days, so, there is no excuse for the bunkers being in the shape they were in. For the price they charge on a regular tee time, one would think the bunkers would be in better condition. The greens have been recently aerated, so it was extremely sandy. bumpy and slow. Would have been nice to have a aeration discount like a lot of courses have. Fairways were in fairly good condition, so that was a plus. A busy afternoon with many foursomes in front of us, some were walking, so it made the round longer than usual.
Lack of communication
For the price it was good but golf now did not report that greens were just aerated as the staff told me they did. Staff member cut us a break since golf now messed up.
Very nice course!
First time we've played in Virginia and was very pleased with The Crossings. The course was in beautiful shape and the greens were immaculate. The course is tight for driving and several holes were over water which was very challenging for us at times.
Crossings review
The fairways and the greens were in great shape. Even though we had a scheduled tee time, there were three groups ahead of us which made us start twenty minutes late. When we came around the turn, we stopped in the clubhouse to get something to eat. The food took forever and they were out of a lot their menu items. The staff was completely unprepared and unorganized. Overall, for the $32 price, I would definitely play here again.
the crossing g. c.
the greens and fairways were in very good condition we had a good time
Pack a lunch!
For the time of year the course was in pretty good shape. Pace of play is awful. Played 11 holes in a little over 4 hours. That is just unexceptable.
Good course
Course in pretty good condition. Greens well kept. Fairways a bit bare but that's just because it's dormant bermuda......can't expect much from that off-season. Overall really good value for the cost.
Very Nice Course, Slow Play, Fast but True Greens
Loved the course with the exception of the slow play. Greens were fast but true. Fairways in very nice condition as were all but one green. This was my first time on the course and I look forward to the next time I get to play it.
A little gem just a bit off of I-95.
Good course, no marshalls.
The greens and fairways were in great shape. The weather was great. Cart path only. But, there were no marshals, therefore, it was painfully slow. All in all a good day. Had the weather been bad, the pace would have made me think of just coming back another day.
Crossings
The course was in decent shape considering the weather that we have had and the greens were not too bad ... I have sometimes had issues with pace of play but wasn't too bad yesterday. Good round ... shame I played awful !
Solid round
Far too many people on the course. It was in great condition for a thursday in February but had to wait behind 3 groups on the 7th hole par 5. Never had that long of a wait on any hole of any course.
awesome course
Great course. Would play it more if I lived closer. Great facility
The course could be better
Pace of play was terrible or they just booked too close together. There was some greens so full of leaves you just couldn't putt on them. Sould have known when the putting green was full of pine tags. As much as it cost to play there, shouldn't have had these conditions. As mention above, they should have had a marshal on the course.
NIce course but slow play.
Heavy cover of hardwoods left lots of leaves on fairways and deep in roughs. Combined with low sun angle made it difficult to find balls. Group in front was very slow, probably because of lost balls. Nine holes consumed 2.5 hours and left inadequate time to finish 18 holes. We were readily given a rain check for nine holes along with sincere apologies.
Greens were smooth as silk but hard, making it challenging for amateurs.
Very playable in a beautiful setting
Played twice while visiting the area. Very pretty course. A little wet but that is not the courses fault. Will definitely come back.
This course had a great track.
The condition of this course was not as good as it probably is when weather conditions are more favorable . The layout was outstanding but the greens were not that great of condition. Fairways were tolerable. Grass was extremely short on the approaches and sparse probably again I assume from too much or not enough rain. The cost was to much for the condition of the course . My personal opinion is even if the condition of the course is weather the cost should follow the condition.
One of Richmond areas nicer golf courses.
The greens had been aerated and some sand topdressing. Greens were still playable and putted ok. Normally these are some of the best greens in the area. Rest of the course is in very good condition. Tee boxes need some leveling but hard to find a course where this is not the case. For $36 it was well worth it.
Good, fair course
Course is reasonably well maintained and is a pretty good test of golf without being overly difficult.
Crossings experience
The Crossings has a nice facility. I like to use a driving range before a round to loosen up and this course has a fantastic range. I would have liked to played the course when it had not been raining. The round was long as it was carts only.
