Las Vegas Golf Club
I’ve played this municipal golf many times, this is the first time in the afternoon. Like most courses in Las Vegas it appeared to me the course was being prepared for over-seeding, so at this time it wasn’t in in the ‘best’ shape.
However, I left after 12-holes as we neared the 4-hour mark. I’m relatively used slow play, but this was the worst I’ve seen. There were no course Marshalls to speed things up, it was just a very frustrating day from the perspective of pace of play.
perfect round
played solo visiting from out of town, needed a quick round. the 4some and a 2some let me play through. finished in 2h 10m on a hot, humid day. water stations had cold water. not too far from the strip where i was staying.
Gone WAY WAY WAY downhill!
I used to play here almost weekly, but over the past couple years this place has gone way way downhill! I think this is typical of the management company! They destroyed Desert Pines at one point too. Now it looks like Las Vegas Golf Club is next! There was bear spots and ivy growing on tee boxes, the fairways weren’t bad, but the greens were horrible lots and lots of dead spots. The dead spots weren’t from unfixed pitch marks either, just dead spots I was really surprised at how poor they were! The staff used to be fantastic here, but now they’re really not so nice. The guy who checked me in was complete RUDE! The range attendant didn’t want to give me what I paid for and tried to force me to just hit what was remaining from someone else’s bucket which was about 10 balls and no extra! The only redeeming employee was their cart girl who was really nice! One of the grounds crew kept blowing crap at me for about 9 holes, and at one point stopped to fiddle with his music and was just blasting me with hot gas filled air, by the way had a nice asthma attack after that, so thanks! Lots of great courses in Vegas A LOT cheaper and much better condition than this place!
Great value in the heart of Vegas
We booked this course for $22 on teeoff. Extreme heat the day we played, so I'm sure that's why the fee was so low. 116 degrees for the high!!
We were very pleased with the value. The course was in nice shape. Fairways and rough were plush in the middle of July!!. Greens were in great shape and very soft.
The layout is pretty basic and not too tough. OVerall a nice place to play.
Great course slow pace
Wish there’s a Marshall to move the pace faster. Started 0930 am and finish a 2:30 pm. Weather is great that day and the course green is awesome.
Good course condition but slow pace
The course is at very good condition considering the green fee is low. The employees are friendly and helpful. This is one of the few courses in Las Vegas that you can walk without cart. The group ahead of us used this opportunity to make it a training round and slowed the pace.
Best Track In Vegas
The absolute best track for the dough. On #9, I was invited to join a foursome that was only playing nine. Unbeknownst to me, two of the guys in the foursome are the pros there. I would hire both of them in a New York minute if I was in charge. Absolute assets to their company and great guys. Can’t say enough good things about the course and the staff.
