Las Vegas National Golf Course
About
A traditional golf course in the land of faux waterfalls, shooting fountains and mountains, Las Vegas National Golf Club is actually part site of Tiger Woods' first win on the PGA Tour.
Las Vegas National was part of the rotation of the Las Vegas Invitational when Woods broke onto the Tour in 1996. Tiger actually won the Las Vegas Invitational (then a 90-hole, multi-course event) with a final round 64 on the private TPC at Summerlin track, erasing David Love III's four-stroke lead.
Average hackers will find a course with plenty of trees in the desert and five inventive par 3s that give National much of its character. This isn't desert golf. It's old school golf with palm trees and sand.
It is also very close to the Strip, just a few turns and about a 10-minute drive away. The area's built up around it with fast-food shops, but the Rat Pack era style remains alive within Las Vegas National's grounds.
"As you pull into the lot at Las Vegas National, the sense of the sixties is evident in the rectangular pastel colored stucco clubhouse that might have seemed modernistic back then, but now is a charming reminder of an architecturally dated style," TravelGolf.com writer Doug Saunders said.

Great historic course
Had a great time playing this course will definitely be back. Great old school course wit cool history like house from the movie casino and u can play vs tigers score when he won tourney here in 90s. Its very forgiving yet challenging at the same time. Snack bar and food options not very good tho
Beware non residents
We booked on Golf Now and found out at the course that they would not honor our Golf Now rate because we were not Nevada residents. First time ever this has happened to us. After some negotiating we paid a higher price and were able to play. The course is surrounded with nostalgia and history and we are glad we were able to play. The starter was outstanding briefing us on some of the history of the area and the golf course as we waited to play. We thoroughly enjoyed the course. Very fair course and the greens will give you fits.
Tough but fair entrainment golf
The tee box informational plaques were great. Course was in great condition when I played. The greens are tough to read they seemed to break uphill and were slower than expected. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good experience I will play here again.
Great day
First time at LV National. Great from bag drop to packing them back in the car. Tees off early enough that I Did a replay for 30$ which is a great deal. Only negative I had was snack bar wasn’t open and was an ordeal to order a sandwich with the cart girl. Greens a little slower than I would have thought but overall great course and great 36 holes.
Great hot deal
Fun course, great staff, really good hot deal on golfnow! Warning.... Tough layout for lefties who can't hit a draw. Great course for righties who can fade the ball.
Had a nice day of golf on a course with a bit of history. Golf now hot deal for 51.00, not bad. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Greens rolled nice and had no bad lies while in the fairways. Surrounding neighborhoods a bit run down as you read on other reviews but I was there for the golf which was fine. Close to the strip
Goat Path
Wow, what a disappointment! The reviews I read were good. Not sure what they we’re thinking. Course was 135 bucks for nonresidents and I would not pay 30 to play it again. Course conditions were poor and surrounding area was very very sketchy! I would NEVER recommend this course!!!
Close to the Strip...
Nice track.
15 minutes from Tropicana
Tons of History - Come early and tour their Museum/HoF
Movie "Casino" shot at some of the houses on the course.
Grass range, putting green and chipping area
Great Staff
Pace was horrible, but locals (in our 4-some) said it was an anomaly.
Short par 4's were tricky
Lots of hidden water - consult the tee box marker
Greens were "hairy" but true - had hard time finding my ball marks...
Give it a try.
Fun course with history...
Have played this course many times when in Vegas and it never disappoints ...
Vegas National.
Played on a pretty nice day. The staff here is great and accommodating. But that can’t make up for the course conditions. The greens were very hard and didn’t take a shot very well. And the greens have different kinds of grasses in them. I wouldn’t recommend this course unless they upgraded the overall playability.
Course in very good shape
Had a great time . Would play again
Pretty funny when a puppy snuck out and stole a ball from the fairway
Disappointed considering the Reviews I had read!
Was excited to book the course with it's esteemed history.
I wouldn't recommend it when comparing to so many other great courses in the area.
Some interesting homes on the course but also many derelict homes that leave you feeling uncomfortable.
Course needs water, dry and hard conditions so ridiculous bounces.
Play for the history okay but don't play if you're playing for the golf.
Nice and comfortable
This is just a good place to play for the regular and little bit better golfer. Everything was in good condition and a little challenging which makes it fun if you keep it in play. Will be back.
excellent as always
This course always maintains excellent playing conditions, and it's no wonder why it used to be a PGA tour stop. The course isn't crazy hard or terribly long, but good putting is essential for a decent score.
Great course
This course is beautifully maintained. It was cool to read about the history the holes on the posted signs at the tees.
Vegas Nat’l
Course has a lot of history and nostalgia! Course is older and mature. A good course to play away from the Las Vegas strip. The greens are fast and true despite the practice green nearest the 1st tee. The course is fun and a must play.
