Rough greens Wildcreek GC
I played Wildcreek GC this time in mid March. They experienced heavy rains and lots of snow (see the pics). A few things of note.
1) The greens were not maintained very well.
2) The OB areas could use some clean-up
3) Many areas of the fairways were in need of attention.
My perception - "we need to hire a course superintendent, please apply." I played several other courses this week, and they were in good to great shape. while I enjoyed the elevation changes from hole to hole, I was disappointed in the course maintenance. Maybe a management change or lack of supervision issue, but the course is in need of someone who cares about the game.
Good luck.
Great Value for the Money
I really enjoy this course but the back nine was only open due to heavy rains lately. It's better than sitting at home and doing nothing and the staff is a+
Good Times!
Beginning of December and the course is still playing great! The grass is hardly dormant and with carts staying on paths only is keeping it nice. We had a blast!
Challenging
nice view, get your camera ready.
Lot of geese drops near ponds area
I like Wildcreek GC
That being said, this round was very cold and windy. No fault of the course. The greens had just been punched and sanded so they were a little slow. The cart had some problems going up the hills. I always find in interesting new companion to play with and this round was no exception.
Nice fair test, great layout, super views
This was a very fun, beautiful and interesting course. Doesn't beat you up. $59 included cart and range.
Club House Friendliness
Every time I go golfing at wildcreek Mike at the desk is very accomadating and friendly. It puts you in a good mood when the first person you meet at the golf course makes you feel comfortable. Thanks Mike
Wild something
This course plays way tougher than it looks
Could be GREAT, but pace of play is horrible.
I liked this course. The setup, the elevation changes, the different types of holes (uphill, downhill, dogleg right and left, short par 4s, long par 4s). There's a good variety of holes. Conditions were above average. Staff was friendly, and we even ordered food before our round (Cuban Sandwich--4 out of 5 stars). Overall, I really like this place. So why the 3 stars? PACE OF PLAY. I have played this course 3 times, and EVERY TIME it comes to a grinding halt after a few holes. Why? This is one of the more affordable golf options in Sparks, and for whatever reason some of the people that play this course think they should play the Blue Tees, which have a 71.6 Rating and a 130 Slope. On top of that it can get windy here, along with some severe elevation changes. I saw a guy in front of me take 3 full shots to get on the green on a par 3.....He (and his entire group) should be playing from the white tees. So that is why EVERY ROUND here is 5+ hours. There are too many newbies that come here that have too big of an ego to move forward 1 set of tees. Save yourself the frustration and just go somewhere else. Course conditions are nice here, but who cares about conditions if the round is 5+ hours, even on a weekday.
Wildcreek
Pro shop organizational skills are truly lacking.
Pace of play is about 5-6 hrs during the week.
Lots of trouble and blind shots.
Greens roll about 10 on the stimp.
Great staff and greens.
The staff was great and the green rolled very nicely and were very true.
Great price and challenging course
The course is an excellent public golf course. It is very challenging and well maintained. I look forward to playing there again.
Great bang for the buck.
Wonderful mountain course.
Shots need to be accurate or you'll need some e,traballs...lol
They do need to reva.p the cart paths...
Its Slow
It was a 3 hour front nine and a 2.5 back nine.
The grill is totally unorganized. The pro shop guys were OK. All support staff plus the grill personal are horrible,
I think I will pass on playing this rack again
awesome 18
Great venue in excellent shape.challenging and big fun. I highly recommend it.
Great day at Wildcreek
The course was in good condition, the weather was great, pace of play good. Really enjoyed the course and the day. Tough course but a lot of fun.
Unfriendly staff spoiled the fun.
Windy but clear weather helped to finish the course under 4 hours for foursome play. On checking in, asked the staff if there was any chance to start early since I needed to travel late. I was going to pay the difference but he said that Golfnow gave me a deep discount already, making me feel inferior. As I said I was willing to pay the difference but he just didn't even give a chance to say anything. He was very unprofessional and bossy. The course was not so busy, just average pace. I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone since I have experienced this kind of sneering and humility.
