Jack Nicklaus designed the golf course at the Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run. The 18-hole, public course is touted as having one of the best layouts in the area. The par-72 course offers 7,014 yards of challenging and fun golf. Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run's design emphasizes strategy rather than power. Sand and water hazards add interest to the course. In addition to providing a great game of golf, the course also has picturesque scenery with the many oaks and pines that snake though the course. It has been named one of America's Top 100 Courses priced under $100.

Nice course
Golden Bear is a good course for amateur golfers
It is not particularly difficult with few hazards to carry!
The greens were in very good shape!
Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant!
For vacation golf I would give it a thumbs up!

We love playing Nicklaus designs - this makes #6 - good challenging layout but fair.

Layout and Fairway Grass
The experience at GB was fantastic. The layout was fair and gettable. I played the gold tees (6150)which were too short for me, but played with some non frequent golfers so I moved up to keep pace of play. Finished round in 4 hours which I was expecting longer based on reviews I had read. Overseeded fairways were a joy, and that alone was worth the extra money to play the course (compared to others nearby). I can’t wait to play again from the longer tees (6650)
Perfect course for an afternoon round
We took our golf loving boys, ages 8 and 13, for an afternoon round of 9. The staff and service were wonderful- helpful and professional. The course was in great condition and pace of play was steady, but not at all stressful. We will definitely be back again soon!
Play
I live in Hilton Head during the winter and spring
I was told that doesn’t qualify me for resident rates.
I pay taxes and utilities here but do not have a
SC drivers license. Not fair.

First time we played the course. Thought it was in great shape. Greens qew very good. Pace of play was slow. Needed a ranger out prodding some groups to move faster.

Amazing Greens
Course was in great condition for late March. Had overseeded in the fall…everything green! Greens were in best condition on any course played in HHI….rolled true!
