Oyster Reef Golf Course
About
Oyster Reef features elevated tees and lush fairways lined by thick stands of live oak and pine. Numerous doglegs accented by strategically located mounds and fairway bunkers, call for well-planned tee shots. Varying sizes of greens with well-defined tiers place a premium on precise approach shots.
The par-3 sixth hole, which plays 192 yards from the back tees to a green set against a backdrop of Port Royal Sound, is one of the most visually spectacular holes on Hilton Head. Oyster Reef is now a semi-private member-owned club with a limited number of tee times for guest play,
The carefully-maintained facility, designed by noted course architect Rees Jones, continues to be a favorite destination for serious golfers as well as a favorite with locals.

Great atmosphere
Staff was great from the bag drop to the pro shop. Course was in good shape for the time of year. Tee boxes and greens were in very good shape.
Pleasant experience!
Staff was great and pace of play was very good!
Greens mostly in great shape 👍
My brother and I came down from NJ to HH for a week of golf. This course has a nice practice area, and provides range balls as part of the cost of the outing. We played it on our last day, but I would consider playing it on the first day we arrive, and take advantage of unlimited range balls provided, especially if you have had a layoff since your last round. All staff were friendly and helpful. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were in very good condition. There was a short back up at first hole, and the starter cannot see the first tee box. This course has wide fairways, enabling you to navigate a number of fairway bunkers protecting the corners of dog legs. This is not an overly difficult layout. Overall, this round was a very good value, and we will definitely play it again on a future trip..
Good value
Course was a solid value for the money. For winter gold the course was in good shape. Only complain was pace of play was extremely slow. We were told there were a couple no shows so we expected to get through round quickly. We were backed up on majority of holes. Either play was slow or too many tee times booked and not spread out far enough. Otherwise, I will play the course again during a trip in summer.
Every hole seemed to be an extreme dogleg one way or the other.
Rudeness
Bag drop boy was insanely rude. Got there an hour early so I could use the driving range it was closed for what reason I haven't a clue
The course greens and fairways are well maintained very playable, with beautiful scenery in the background.
SLOW PACKED PL. BUT HELPFUL RANGER
We spent about 3 hrs to plow thru the first nine until a very helpful ranger directed the very slow foursome in front of us to pick up and move to the next home It took the whole front 9 for the rangers to stop telling us the whole course was packed and get the laggers to skip forward
