Likely won't return.
The course was in reasonable condition on a nice but windy afternoon. I am a 19 handicap playing the white tees. a few things really detracted from the joy of playing. There were no yardage markers other than the 150. There were lots of sprinkler heads that any course presenting itself as being reputable would us. Made club choices difficult. The greens are fast and in some cases were tricked out. A pin 4 ft feet from the edge on a hill so that anything more than a careful lag putt whips past the flag and into the water hazard, Surrounding few feet of the green which may have stopped a slow rolling ball shaved short and sloping into hazard This happened twice in our group. Nonsense really. Another sidehill cup would not pass the 5 foot drop test where you drop a ball vertically beside a hole and it rolls more than 5 feet away. In one case the ball would likely have continued into the lake if we didn't stop it. Some of the greens felt like bizzaro US Open attempts. Not fun. Another elevated green behind a large bunker on a par four was 10 feet deep with the pin in the middle. A decent drive leaves 130-150 yard shot that if it flies the bunker, has a few feet to stop before heading down the other side of the green. You returning chip is most likely to catch the dramatic drop that starts a foot to the right of the pin. A good drive, a nice approach and double bogie is yours. Some of these are overcooked design features. Some are poor judgement on the greenskeeper's part. All adds up to there are more enjoyable courses to play if you are a 2 digit handicap looking for a fair golf outing.

good track; needs gps for guests to have better knowledge of hazards; greens well maintained and fair
Not worth the regular green fee
Thankfully, I was able to book this as a hot deal on GolfNow. From tee boxes to greens the condition of this course does not merit what is routinely charged. The undulation and slope of greens, and extensive mounds in fairways seem contrived and excessive on many holes.
Nice layout
Overall a good experience. Greens in good shape except for one (16?). About 1/3rd of the holes I would consider pretty tight. Lots of water to contend with. Guy in club house was friendly, as were the two people I encountered getting and returning my cart. No beverage cart came by us. Had a 1PM tee time, starter let me go out ahead of the older couple I was paired up with. Wound up pairing up to another guy on hole #4. I played from the blues; he from the combo white/black, nice mix of tee boxes.
Things they can improve...include a pin sheet as some greens are rather large. I recommend purchasing a course book because the carts don't have GPS and the tee boxes don't have a diagram of the hole. Luckily the guy I played with knew the course well.
Overall, OK value. If I had paid full rack rate I would have been disappointed due to the lack of GPS on cart, no course book and no pin sheets.
Be sure you get a deal.....
Like all of the Heritage managed courses, prices at Palmetto Hall have increased tremendously. With an afternoon hot deal, it's a little closer to the value you will find.
Bunkers are better and greens were good; fairways dry and predominantly dormant. Many other courses are much greener. Decent driving range and excellent short game area around the corner.
Decent pace late day.

Slow play we got stuck behind a slow group asked starter to get us thru didn’t happen , could have been handled by starter , as we were all waiting to tee off 1st tee. Much of green side grass dug up looks like some kind of animal damage , layout is fine greens were good shape with couple exceptions , but notTop dollar value
Coors had no drainage. I will never play there again.
Standing water in the Fairways, no grass around the greens
Good value for money
A good course, well laid out with difficult , challenging holes but overall well worth the price of admission compared with most other Hilton Head courses.
Fairly tight fairways and enough hazards for an average golfer to play cautiously or make sure you carry enough golf balls !
Challenging Couse
Had been playing very well at the three courses in my home community. This course put me in my place. Being a sweeper/picker of the ball the dormant fairways made in more difficult for me.
A Nice Round
Good place to play with Hot Deal time and discount. Normal rate has gotten high, but It's a course worth playing if you have a chance.
Greens were in excellent condition. Fairways were lacking grass but not unexpected for February. Even rolling the ball it was hard to avoid hitting of hard pan. It played better from the rough.
