Not bad for winter conditions
How do you want a public golf course in winter to be as nice as it is in summer? Impossible.
This golf course was flooded by important rain a week before but was in good condition when we played on a sunny day Dec 30.
We were happy to play here to close our yer of golf despite critics.
Pretty Rough
I’d been about a year since and I was really hoping they would have improved. Unfortunately, they have not.
I’m unsure of the circumstances of why this course is in such bad shape, but it’s pretty sad. I can excuse rough fairways and no sand in any of the bunkers, but bad tee’s and greens makes it feel like it’s just simply neglect. Even the practice green is in bad shape.
It’s pretty much the same for the clubhouse. The pro shop is almost empty and the food/bar situation is quite depressing.
I brought my wife here for her first round of golf but even she said, “I don’t want to come back here.” No matter the price of the round, I’d have to agree.
I hate to leave a bad review. Hopefully either they will begin to see how the public reviews this course and do something or sell to someone who would care a bit more.
Has Potential But .....
Right now, this is a course you don't worry about what you shoot, because most fairways have either bare spots, mud areas, or crab grass that would typically be marked off as GUR. Greens were not terrible but still not near what you consider nice greens.
The pace of play was good overall, so that plus the cost will probably have us try again in a few months and see if the conditions improve.
Ziggy
For the price this course is great. It was well watered and marshall let us play through a twosome of slower players. That’s a rarity! Holes are a challenge and will definitely play again
Cost/Quality=Zero
They only good thing is they recently secured reconditioned courts. They all we be destroyed within 6 months due to course condition.
Course is just fine
Not the best course in the world but not deserving of the negative reviews either, I’m a 3 handicap & grew up on a private course and have no issues coming out here and having a good time. Cheapest course in Austin area for the most part & you get every bit of what you pay for. Looks like a lot of bogey golfers taking their frustration out in the comments
Not that bad
Played once when I moved to the area about a year ago and again today, for the most part all the greens and tee boxes are just fine.. it’s about the cheapest course in Austin area and you get every bit of what you pay for. Getting the feeling 9/10 of these reviews are guys going out & shooting 90+ & blaming the course. I’m a +3 & grew up on a private course and have no issues coming here and having a good time. Go get some lessons you hacks
Cheaper, but not worth the price…
The are weeds all over. The fairways are overrun with unmowed crab grass. The greens have been infested with some type of weed so they are very bumpy. The carts all have torn seats. The clubhouse was dark and empty. No one was working behind the counter of the grill.
Next time I’ll definitely choose something else. It’s a shame. It could be a good course if they spent the time and money on it.
It is what it is
This course is in bad shape, but so is my golf game. If you're new to golf or really need the practice in wide open space, this is your course. Doesn't make since to blow money on great courses before you're able to play great golf.
Not well maintained
The course is in very rough conditions. Carts look like they are from the 80s. Pace of play was dreadfully slow. 4 groups on one hole. Terrible
