Royal St. Augustine Golf and Country Club
Located in Florida’s oldest city, Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club offers a glimpse of the area’s lush foliage and native marshlands. The course has a visually interesting layout with elevated, sprawling greens and a variety of bunker shapes and sizes. The moguled fairways and sandy waste areas are two other distinguishing features of the course. It is a tight course with large greens and gentle undulations. The layout provides a “target-golf” experience that puts a premium on accuracy and distance control. The numerous bends in the course in combination with the blustery winds also makes proper club selection very important.

Not worth playing
This course may have been nicer when it opened but the ownership clearly can’t afford to maintain it at a level worthy of the modest greens fee. To say the greens were beat up and bumpy would be an understatement. The staff was pleasant but their efforts were not enough to save the day
Always good to play here
The course is Always well maintained. I played from White tee, it's not long, but, its always difficult since the course is narrow and a lot of waters and woods. The peace was just, not much waiting time. Noone came to sale drinks no food was available at the bar today due to absence of the chef for tornament at TPC today.
Course was in good shape for the most part. Advertised as a challenging track and it was. Enjoyed the round. Kept the driver in the bag for the most of the round.
Early round. Fast pace.
Course was in fairly nice shape. The first green was in poor shape, but otherwise putts rolled true even when the green didn't look great. Course can be tight, don't pull driver every time. Little trouble with laser range finder; flagsticks don't have prism to assist. Overall, enjoyable course that I would play again.
Greens with exception of 1- were good - shotmaker course - fairways run off - left/right - demanding however fun -
EXPENSIVE AND CHALLENGING
Play here a few times a year, but live nearby. Course is narrow, and run-offs to left & right into woods or water ~ but playable. The course can be quite frustrating even for seasoned players ~ not worth spending over $25 per round.
I have played several courses since I have been down here. This course was the best one so far. For a Florida course, there was actually grass in the fairways and around the greens. I also enjoyed the lay out of the course with all the bends and just enough water to offer sufficient challenges. I would definitely play this course again.
Royal St Augustine
The pace of play was outstanding - 3 1/2 hrs for our foresome. All staff was accommodating.had a couple hot dogs at the turn & were great. Check-in staff were very efficient. The first green was awful, but others were pretty nice but sandy. Fairways were tight & coupled with high winds made the course difficult. Carts had GPS which was an added bonus. Carts were in need of being replaced. All in all for the price it was as expected. There are better courses out there, but the price point was spot on.
Very nice course
Very good condition. Some greens need attention. Great staff and great carts. Lots of water. Challenging.
Shot makers course.
A couple of greens where in bad shape. Over all a good course.
Royal it is VERY
Royal St Augustine what a fabulous track .
The course meanders threw a lovely neighborhood. Played from the tips course was a wet in low spots Tee boxes were nice greens were quick and inviting. Played long and tight off the tee from the tips ,but many skill level tee options for all to enjoy are available
Lots of water, undulations in fairways make your tee shots more challenging ,but manageable
Very courteous and helpful staff thank you Stephen groundskeeper superintendent thanks very much Mark general manager and thank you Shirley very very much and of course the card lad great kid thanks again wonderful time look forward to getting back there
You get what you pay for
No food service the cook was off
No starter so it got jammed up
No beverage cart
Very tight and scruff fairways
Green need HELP
Poor management I predict it won’t last unless they get a company to run it and spend some $$$
Hello Mr. Lewis,
I want to apologize for your poor experience. I think you unfortunately caught us on an off day. Tuesday’s are typically slow and with the weather forecast we weren’t expecting much. I gave the cook and the starter the day off. The same for the beverage cart. The weather turned out to be decent and we had more play than expected. I take the blame for that and I apologize. As far as conditions go I think they’re very good for this time of year. I know we are just as good if not better than others in the area. We’ve all had to deal with a very wet winter. I would love to have you back out for another visit so you can get the real Royal experience. Please feel free to reach out to me at the course. Thank you, Marc Devany
We enjoyed our round of golf today at Royal St. Augustine. The course was in pretty good shape. The greens were slippery! Moved right along. 18 holes took us just about 4 hrs.
Nice and tight
This course is a great course to work on golfing skills. Love this course!
1st play of 2019
A very challenging course for my ability. Play seldom in the winter. Greens except for no. 1 were in good condition and fast. Many hazards and I found most of them. An interesting course with difficult and easy holes (par 3's).
