Thanks giving
The course was closed on 11/23.
I could not play a golfing.
This course is still my favorite course.
Great course to play
I enjoyed the Pines, thrilling and challenging course. I will be back to play it again. The course is a little confusing the way it's laid out, would help to have a course map on the score card for first time players.
Won’t be back
Today the front nine was closed, which is totally understandable. What is not understandable, is not staggering times allowing Lindsey Wilson College golfers to walk in a group of six and on top of it all refusing to refund or give us a rain check for the nine holes we didn’t get to play due to being extremely overcrowded and pace of play at almost a dead stop. It’s really sad because I love this course but over the past six months every round our group is tried to play has ended horribly. Save your money and go to a golf course where there are helpful and Competent employees. We were told because we booked on GolfNow there was nothing they could do for us. They didn’t even offer to call the Course and clubhouse manager to get his advice. I know I speak for the other two people in my group. We will never be back. I will never recommend this course again.
Late Winter Conditions
40 bucks on a Sunday is generally reasonable. Rainy days laying up to this round has the fairways soft. Pine cones littered several fairways. The fringe is heavily spotted with grass clumps, a time-of-year and weather related condition. Smallish greens are hard to hit and stick, regardless of conditions. The greens did roll smooth and reasonable pace. Will I play there again? Yes. It's not a goat farm, but neither is it a country club.
Paid More for Hot Deal Than Normal Course Rate
Cost me more to book the "hot deal" than if I booked directly with the course. That's not really a hot deal if you ask me. Course is ok, except nobody knows how to fix a ball mark or divot. They're trying to make it better, but at this point it's honestly just not worth $40 \ round.
Dear reviewer, I wanted to reach out apologize for the fee you were charged. Unfortunately, the course cannot control what GolfNow posts in the tee time portal as to sale prices for tee times. It is simply beyond our control. It is odd that you were charged more than our normal rate, and frankly unacceptable. I would like to offer the opportunity to come back and play with us for a discount. Feel free to reach out to me (Eric) as I am the Director of Golf and Grounds and would like to make it right with you. Hope you take me up on it as we want to provide a fair rate for our golf experience.
Rules for some, but not all
I've enjoyed playing at this course for more than a decade, however over the past few rounds the pace of play has been ridiculous as well as course rules being applied to some but not all. I've was in a group of 5 last season (we didn't know we couldn't have 5 at this time) and four holes into of our 2 V 3 scramble on a slow day with very few people in front of us (none behind) we were told to split up our group. We did so, only to have our two-some catch a group of 4 several holes ahead of us, ending up log jammed behind this very slow group of four. Fast forward to my most recent round and a group of LWC golfers are walking with a group of six holding up 4 other groups behind them and then other groups on the course playing with as many as 6-8 people on the same hole. I learned to play at this course and would love to keep playing it, but my last 9 holes took me and one other person nearly 4 hours to finish. I'll reluctantly drive to Lakewood or Campbellsville Country Clubs from now on.
Hi Adam. I apologize for the experience that you are stating in your review. It is important to my staff and me that we provide a consistent experience and always break up groups larger than 4, no matter the situation. It is a very big issue at many courses and we do all we can to eliminate it at our course. As to the golf team, they do have some time to practice “on course” as their other facilities are limited. I do ask that they remain in groups of 4 or smaller, so this is something that is alarming and will be discussed. I’d like to offer the opportunity to come back and play with us again and would gladly offer a discount to offset your poor experience with us in early February. Feel free to reach out to me (Eric) any time as I am the Director of Golf and Grounds.
For the money
The best course in central Kentucky for the money. You can get huge discounts on GolfNow that make this course playable for less than $20 a round with a cart. There’s 9 hole courses that cost more than that.
The Pines at Lindsey Wilson
Staff was very friendly. Course is short at approx 6300 from the tips, but has a few doglegs to challenge tee shot club selection. Fairways and greens were in good shape and the course was enjoyable. I will return.
Hey Adam, we appreciate you taking time to review our course. As director of golf, I’d certainly like to address your concerns. First, we only had nine holes open due to us aerifying greens. We try to be a course that stays open during this process unlike other places that close for days entirely. It does cause crowded conditions. In regard to the refund process , the pro shop workers did reach out to me directly while you were in shop with your request. Unfortunately , when our customers book hot deals with golfnow , we do not see any of the actual dollars. So, this means that issuing refunds or rain checks with these deals costs our facility double, therefore it is our policy for these customers to deal directly with golfnow with such requests. I was on property when the LWC players you videoed teed off in a group of 6 in their first hole (hole 10), what your video does not show is me addressing it with them on the green, so within the first 10 minutes of it happening and them splitting up by the next tee (hole 11). We constantly monitor the course for groups larger than 4, and address it as soon as it is discovered. It is unfortunate that you had a bad experience on a day where we were trying to help our customers by being open on a course service day, again unlike pretty much any other facility would do. We would love to have you back, and I will certainly do anything possible to regain your business. Thanks again for taking time to review and please feel free to contact me directly if there are any further things I can do to assist.
