The Lakes Country Club
About
The Lakes Country Club sprawls across acres of lush North Carolina countryside, offering a glimpse of the wildlife and vegetation that is unique to Boiling Springs Lakes. Being the oldest golf course in Brunswick County, it has become a local favorite over the years. The course is a manageable 6,700 yards from the tips, making it approachable enough for less experienced players. While it is not the most formidable challenge it is enjoyable for a range of skill levels. As the golf course's name would imply, there are numerous lakes that come into play often, especially on the front nine. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout. The Lakes C.C. is popular for being not only a player-friendly, well maintained golf course but also being one of the best values in the area.

No farways played off sand tee blocks were so bad. To long for woman to play.
One large sand trap…
Course was in horrible shape. Apparently, it hasn’t been watered this year. One big sand trap which resulted in little or no roll. I do not recommend it.
Rough shape
Course was in very poor shape. Many areas had no grass and that included the tee boxes. Cigarette butts all over the course including the greens. We had a group of 6 was in front of us. No Marshall so it took 40 minutes to play the first 2 holes! Do not recommend.
Nice staff and great community
Had some really slow people in front of us but the people behind me were awesome and fun to talk too, pro shop staff was awesome. Still had a great time!! Will be back
Wet on front but greens nice
Cart path only on front with about 3 really wet holes. Greens all in amazing shape. Back 9 dry and nice.
Nice getaway
Staff is great. Course in good condition for the time of year. Serious value for the money spent. Carts & clubhouse need a serious upgrade. Would recommend to anyone wanting to play in the area.
40.00/18 w/cart max.
I made a T-time for 936am through Golf Now, then was told by golf course I had no T time and that they didn’t associate with GN. So my 2 @ 34.00 ea. deal went to 50.00/ea and we had to be there at 8 am if we wanted to play. The have no faith in GN anyway. Thanks!
the course was in nice shape .THe new owners ar making some changes like bigger bunkers on hole 1 and 2 . the round took 4 hrs .pace was ok .I would play again
Good value
Greens were very slow, collars in good shape, bunkers in good shape just need to clean up the areas where equipment entered/exited them, Long par 3's. Some fairways are needing mowed shorter, but it;s also noticeable that they are working on the course and don't want to burn them out as it's been hot. Staff very friendly, no driving range but has putting and chipping area. Good value and curious how it will play once fairways fully come in as I lost some distance on rollout but overall not bad. Some of the holes reminded me of Pinehurst with the natural sand areas.
Wasn't bad
Didn't know what to expect as I've read mixed reviews. The course is being worked on, but overall the greens were rolling very slow but in good condition, bunkers had plenty of sand but needs some manicuring due to equipment going in/out, around the greens were good. Some of the fairways need mowed shorter but hard to do with the heat and trying to bring the grass back. Overall, good layout and experience.
The greens were inconsistent. Pin placement was very interesting. Some fairways had little to no grass in some areas.
Fairways were in rough shape.
This could be a gem but the fact that the fairways were not cut made it difficult to enjoy. Burnt out fairways, greens were long, slow and did not hold shots with spin.
