Elks Run Golf Club
About
Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia was designed by Greg Norman. It sprawls across 163 lush and secluded acres where golfers will be hard-pressed to find a home anywhere close to the course. Norman carefully utilized the natural terrain, incorporating the meandering creek on several holes and also adding a few holes that venture up the side of a hill. Thanks to the dramatic elevation changes, there are some tees where your ball seems to stay in the air forever. The first nine is more open with a traditional links-style layout that then leads to the more densely wooded back nine. In addition to the trees and other natural hazards, there is also an unusually thick first cut of rough as well as tall stands of native grasses.

Elks Run 9th Tee, short but challenging with a view of what is to come. Photo submitted by msparke on 10/25/2012
I Love Elks Run!
Definitely my favorite course in Cincinnati. Little expensive these days but still a great value for the money.
Slow Day
Course was wet from recent storms. Cart path only, which didn't set well with me considering there was a rough mower working, which weighs 10 times what a cart weighs. Other than that it was a good day of golf.
This course has many great things
I attended Elks Run for my second round of golf ever. First of all, the course looked absolutely amazing. It is a great course for those who are new and trying to improve. But, there are also little creeks and sand traps around the greens that can make you pay for making even the slightest mistake. I would recommend this course to all my friends and I hope to learn and get better at this course myself.
Great layout
Play here several times a year and the course is always in great condition. There are several challenging holes but hole #15 has always been hard for me. Getting older and not hitting the golf ball that far anymore makes it more challenging to play here, but will not give up playing here as it is such a nice course.
This course has a nice layout!
Good course layout and in pretty good condition! Holes provide a good challenge and at times you have to use good course management! I will definitely play there again in the future!
Friendly staff but lots of dandelions
Great staff. No waiting for 3:00pm tee time. Only blemish was all the dandelions. Makes finding a white golf ball difficult. (Especially for players like me that tend to miss the fairway frequently).
GREAT COURSE IF YOU HAVE 6 HOURS
First- The course was in the best shape that I have ever seen it! Greens were super fast and receptive! Course was GREAT!
I would give course a solid 5 Stars! But……….OMG -Ridiculous pace of play!!! We made turn in 2 hours 45 mins to find 2 groups STILL on tee on #10! No ranger to be found , I finally left on 13- for sure would never play again on a Friday or weekend!
Greed will ruin your business
I'll be brief. No rangers on the course. The golf course Rented EVERY golf cart - I had to wait past my tee time for a cart, even though I had reservations. Took me 1:55 minutes to play 3 complete holes. On hole number 4, I watched someone hit 2 approach shots and the parent kept dropping balls to allow them to hit again. WHERE ARE THE RANGERS?
If I am simply at a practice range, dont act like I'm on a golf course.
IMO, this course is already in a bad, hard to get to location. If you don't promote friendliness and quality- your competiton will wipe you out.
Good choice
It’s early in the year but the course is in good shape, greens were smooth and fast, no complaints.
1 of the Best Public Courses in Cincinnati
This golf course is a true gem and always a treat to play. For this early part of 2022, the course in fantastic shape especially compared to most courses right now. From teeboxes, fairways, rough, and greens everything is lush and vibrant. All the bunkers are in amazing midseason form. The layout is truly inspiring with pristine views on so many holes. Greens roll true, teeboxes are excellent for early season, and pace of play during the week is superior to others. 2 foursomes ahead of me, and still finished in 3 hours 45 minutes for 18 holes. Super friendly staff, well stocked proshop, and excellent clubhouse grill food. Just a total stress-free, truly enjoyable and positive golf experience. This course provides something amazing for everyone in my opinion. Will be back many more times this year for sure. Never been? Try it, you'll be glad you did.

Wonderful Golf Course
Wonderful golf course with friendly staff. Very well kept. Pace tends to get behind early because of short par 4 followed by long par 3 to start. But picks up after a long par 5 on 3. Wide open course makes for a fun experience.
We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Elks Run Golf Club.
