Type Resort
Opened in 1897, Del Monte Golf Course is the oldest course in continuous operation west of the Mississippi. Designed by golf and polo enthusiast Charles Maud, this inland course boasts a meandering, hilly layout that has challenged golfers for more than a century. It was the original host of the California State Amateur-still played on Del Monte's narrow, tree-lined fairways and small,well-protected greens-and continues to serve as one of the three courses on which the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational is played. Adjacent to Del Monte Golf Course, the Del Monte Pavilion offers an inviting outdoor setting for any special event. Whether you are hosting a corporate outing or a tournament awards ceremony, all events are impeccably catered by the Lodge at Pebble Beach.

Challenging and Boring

Played as part of the 4th of July Stay and Play package they were running. Our driver told us it is the 2nd oldest course west of the Mississippi (not sure if that's true or not), but neat to see the older homes. The course was in really great shape. Awesome greens. But the layout is the same hole over and over again. And the fairways are about 15 yards wide. So if you are inaccurate, you have no hope here. Staff was VERY friendly and food was superb. If you are playing the Pebble courses, I would leave this one out. Not a good value for the money IMO. If you're a local, prob a fun one to play every now and again.

A treat

The course is in beautiful condition. Love the small, fast greens. Love the layout with tees next to greens. Very fast pace of play. We warmed up at Monterey Pines down the road. Splurge a little, treat yourself to a round at this historic track
