Very enjoyable early morning round. Greens a bit faster than I am used too but that’s a positive. It was a cold and windy morning but that did not take away from the enjoyment of my first time here. I will be returning
Enjoyed the round
Really enjoyed my round today here. Was a very early tee time so oace was great. I was a single who was fortunate enough to have met two groups along the way that let me pass All fiur of them got up to the green and then waived me up. Much appreciated. Doesn't happen everywhere.
Pretty good course
This course is very nice to play in the early morning. It's different then most places I have played but overall a very good little course, it is very reachable for beginners and not to terribly hard. It is a confusing layout and other fairways are very close together I had to watch out for other players ending up on the fairway I was playing. But i do like it and will play again!!!
Fun
Beautiful day. Happy Halloween. Weather was perfect. Nobody else on the course. Great condition.
Much improved course the last few years.
Perfect weather and very friendly staff and very well maintained course. A little over booked schedule caused a slow play but not too bad. Only 10 minutes from my house so I will take advantage of good GolfNow deal such as today’s whenever offered. Thanks GolfNow.
BCGC review
This course is fun to play, it’s in pretty good shape, a little dry in some places, greens are in good shape. Pace of play was a little slow at times, could use some marshaling, I never saw a marshal all day. The staff was very friendly and the 19th hole very nice as well. Overall, I would recommend this course and will play it again.
Fun curse to play!
The course is a fun coarse to play and can be challenging on some holes.
Course was in great shape, the best I’ve seen in years and staff was very friendly. But slow play is the golf killer. We were a foursome with 2 girls in our group, caught up to another foursome (guys) that played like my seven year old daughters gossiping friends. Outside of that group we had a wonderful round and would recommend this course. Thanx golf now.
Hot afternoon
One of the nice things about Bartley Cavenaugh, especially on a hot day is that there is plenty of cold water canisters. Course is also good to get the kinks out if you haven’t played for awhile or are just “off”. Short, open, good place for the money.
Great shape
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this course in such great shape. Greens were in phenomenal condition, fairways great shape. The biggest thing was pace of play even though they were lots of golfers out there, we finished our round in 3 hrs.
Playing awesome
March 27th I got a total hip surgery on my left hip. Until May 9th I couldn’t put full weight on my left leg. So one month later, June 9th, 4 of us played at 7:45am 2 walked, 2 rode, I walked. The course was in great shape and I was actually hitting them well. A couple of times I leaned back on my right leg due to habit. But overall I played great. I had 2 birdies, 1 on the front, 1 on the back. I had 3 dbls, and 1 triple (18th hole) shot an 85. Not bad for someone who just had hip surgery. Love this course. Greens are in awesome shape.
Good day at Cavnaugh
Weather was great pace as little slow but was in no hurry,Blaine was super in handling my tee time change.all staff friendly,I will definitely book again and again..
Poorly Maintained Course
This was my first time playing Bartley Cavanaugh. I was told that this was not a "typical" golf course and to expect a "links" style course. The mounding and rolling hills made for some fun swings. The greens were in great shape and were rolling pretty fast but smooth. That's were the enjoyment of the course ended.
I play almost every week and usually pay around $20-$30 for a round of golf with a cart. I was shocked when I was hit with a $48 price to play the course. I'm sorry but the quality of the course doesn't match up to the price that is required to play.
For starters, there is no driving range so you don't get the opportunity to hit balls before teeing off. The cart paths are more bumpy than driving on the rough or fairway.
Next, the tee boxes aren't level and the grass is very patchy. No matter where we teed off from, the ball was above or below our feet. Also, the bathrooms are very poorly maintained. Not only are they poorly labeled but also very dated and rusty.
The course layout is very crowded. At times it feels like you are sharing tee boxes and greens with other groups. On several holes we had balls flying onto our fairway from holes on our right and left.
I wish I could give a more positive review but this place did not live up to the hype. I'm hoping that the tournament decides to find somewhere else because this place is on par with Antelope Greens & Indian Creek.
