Had a blast
Played the course a handfull of times and enjoyed it everytime. There's no water hazards but there are some difficulty if you get into the wooded areas. There are some dry patch areas here and there, but forgivable due to the drought season. The greens are in decent shape. Overall, good bang for the buck.
Great course
Excellent course condition. Friendly staff. Will definitely coming back.
did not include a cart
My green fee did not include a cart. Ended up costing me $45 to play.
Friendly staff enjoyable course
Busy Saturday. Staff friendly and upbeat amongst the craziness. Well organized at #1tee but running late. Once out play was smooth. Made the turn. Ordered lunch. Long wait for food. Lost space. Had to squeeze back in on #10. Fun course. Would go again.
Fair and challenging
First time playing after 3 weeks of rain. We walked the course after 4 days of sunshine so it dried up pretty good. The fair ways were in good condition and the greens were in excellent shape. The sand traps need a little attention though. Most are dirt and not sand. But overall great course, greens are medium speed so if you hit one firm it won't fly off the green or roll a mile. Just beware of the drive in, you have I think it's the 9th hole on your right, right against the road and you have the driving range on your left with NO NETTING so beware and pay attention. But great course
Bing
The course was ok , the front 9 close too wet !! I would like a credit for a replay , I felt cheated . Thanks Mr. Levy
nice greens and course
This was an awsome golf now price. wish they had this deal where im from. around 16 bucks was great. played with a good dude named aaron i shot an 81 liped out 5 putts a few for birdie some for par, could have done better, played from the blue tees
cold day for golf
it was cold but a great day anyway
This courses fairways are in bed shape
This course isn't what used to be. Some fairways are.soft and marshy looking.
After the round the happy hour specials weren't available because the kitchen shut down the grill 2 and a half hours before happy hour was supposed to.end. The sign said January specials 5 dollar special from 3 to 6 . They shut it.down at 3:30.
Bing was.nice.in the past. But not.worth the high prices now. The course needs some.serious.work
this course has very nice greens
Played the blue tees even though I am in my 60's. It's the rainy season and some spots were soggy. The greens were in great shape but were very soft. Had to fly every shot all the way to the flag. Finished in 3and a half hours. excellent pace for a muni course.
Old city golf course, kept well for years.
Weather was excellent and fair pace of play. Need more staff attention in marshaling the pace of play. Made a good improvement over the last few years, especially for restaurant and the restroom facilities. Seems to be doing a lot better than in the past.
The first hole took 26 minutes
Have played this course many times. The staff is friendly and will let you start a little early if it doesn't affect other players. On this day a high school girls shotgun tournament started right before our t-time. They were self marshaled and didn't care about time. The group that started on hole 9 took 26 minutes from start to finish. That set the pace for the rest of the day. I sure wish the staff would have posted an alert on the golf now web sight which is available with the "!" sign. That way nobody is rudely surprised. I would like to think I don't have to call every course before hand.
This is for 18-hole course
GolfAdvisor page is not allowing me to post review to 18-hole course. Very disappointed with both GolfNow and the course. GolfNow had no warning that the course was aerating on the day we scheduled to play and that only 9 holes of the 18 hole course were playable (the back nine). The course starter told us that they notified GolfNow well in advance. Disappointed with the course because the original starter told us to play the back 9 holes twice. When we finished 9 holes, we noticed a high school tournament of approximately 20 girls ready to tee off in front of us. We complained to the course (a new starter was working). First, the new starter wanted to know who was working earlier (irrelevant). Then, the new starter tried to tell us that we only paid for 9 holes. When I told him that I could pull up my reservation confirmation right then and there, he THEN said that the original starter "should have told us that a high school tournament would be starting later." Ultimately, we were told to proceed to #11, ahead of the high school tournament.
Classic traditional course
Note this is for the 18 not the 9, I was unable to post to the 18. This is a classic/traditional course that I always enjoy. wide fairways generally and course plays fair, rewarding the good shots, penalizing hard left and far right. I seem to always find a group in front that likes to watch each others shots for some time, then hit their shot, really time consuming. Some players can be rough around the edges here. great fairways and well kept greens.
Love this Course
I play Bing a few times a year and love this course. Would recommend it to anyone.
This course is great for senior golfers
The course condition is very good overall. Fairways and greens are in very good condition. The course may be a little short, only three par four, but it is good for practicing your short game, and is right for senior golfers. It's convenient location and good condition are also big appeal.
Not bad, it's a good course
First time playing here. Course was good, pretty nice. Just wasn't feeling it. It's a good course if you can find a deal on golf now, but there's better courses around sac. I'd play again, nothing special about it.
A day of golf at Bing
Course was in excellent condition and we had a great round of golf!
Bing Maloney is old-school, affordable golf in Sacramento
The regulation course at Bing Maloney provides a no-frills, old-fashioned round of parkland golf. The terrain is flat and tree-lined. The fairways move just enough to create some unique angles of attack. The greens were impressive, fast and true. The old pond on the second hole is being filled in and will eventually be grassed over. The back nine is clearly superior. Its best two holes - no. 10 and 12 - dogleg left, demanding a draw for the best position. Everybody especially remembers the 12th hole, where a huge tree guards the fairway. Golfers not brave enough to blast one past the left side of the tree, flirting with the out-of-bounds line, must bail out to the right side of the fairway, leaving a 250-yard approach into the green. Every other hole is what-you-see-is-what-you-get.
