course looked good, well placed bunkers but not overly difficult for the average player like myself.
Staff was very friendly. Was apprehensive on how I would be treated or paired with as a single. I was paired with 3 other singles, we all were of similar abilities as luck would have it. We all had an enjoyable round.
Always a fun course
I always try to play Myrtlewood Palmetto when I'm down on vacation. The course plays a little long, but it is fair and they keep the turf and greens in good condition. Even though the course is built in a huge housing development, there is still some great scenery as you're playing. I arrived that day of play to find we were covered by a wide area of rain that was eventually moving out. However, as this was pushing tee times back of schedule and I needed to be done earlier, they agreeably accommodated me with another tee time the next day. Really like the course and staff at Myrtlewood.
Great fun course
Real busy on a Friday afternoon took just over 5 hours
But fun playable layout plenty wide great array of tees for talent level great staff
Paid 90 or so
The Myrtle beach club members get it for 45
I’d say 60 would be about right but market level is what it is
kc okeefe boys
Pro shop and marshals were extremely helpful and cordial. Had a handicapped gentleman that could only play nine and it made his trip memorable. Thanks again for the help and understanding.
Pace of Play
We waited on every shot. We were told that it would take 4:30 to play. We were only 5 minutes over that however they don't tell you that they must of estimated a lot of time for waiting when they calculated that estimate. We played another course the next day and some locals told us that this is always the problem with this course. The said it's a cash cow and they schedule tee times just 7 minutes apart. I asked the marshal if there was someone ahead of us that was really slow. He tried to convince us that we were playing on pace for 4:30 hours. Do not waste your time at this course. You will spend more time watching other golfers then playing yourself. This course could be played in less than 3:30 hours. Many holes had 2 groups waiting.
Fair value
Saturday so you almost expect it to be slow. And it was. It all comes down to how slowly just one group is and affects everyone after that group. 4 hours and forty minutes isn’t great but we were pushing to get done before dusk. The staff was excellent and very friendly. The starter and bag guys were really cordial and funny.
Fall maintenance getting ready for winter, which made the course wet. It still was a fun rounds
