5 1/2 hours on a Wednesday afternoon!!! Too long!!
Great layout, I’ll spend 6 hours happily enjoying this true test of golf. I come here to play golf and will happily wait every shot to play a real golf course. Thank you Legends for providing a golf course without white stakes intruding my score. This is one of the few beach courses that allows a modern player to swing away off the tee box.
Fairways a little rough
Overall enjoyed playing Heathland, but using rental clubs that I consider to be inferior to my pings was a definite impact. Next time will bite the bullet and bring my own.
The greens were in grate shape but fairways were pretty rough but given the heat and lateness in the season it’s understandable.
Another issue is the clubs grips and head settings, the 5 wood needed to be replaced as they were worn and extremely slick. The driver was set to a low loft setting vs a standard loft. These should be set to a standard before handing them over to a customer or ask how they wanted them set.
Again I would play the course again but will bring my own sticks next time.
Not what she used to be
Heathland is a great layout, but, unfortunately, Father Time seems to be taking its tole. It simply isn’t maintained in the manner that it used to be. Cart paths, bunkering, railroad ties, etc are very aged. Plus bunkers are not being maintained (raked). Almost fell off the bench at the bag drop because it was loose. Bag person said he reported it several months ago, but it still hasn’t been repaired. Not sure if there has been a change of ownership, whether COVID is still having a significant impact or whether management is lacking. I suppose the value is still decent as the greens fee also includes breakfast and lunch. Don’t like having to give this course a poor review, but, conditions just don’t warrant anything else.
Excellent!
They’re a little weird about the range and such, but to be fair, we should’ve arrived earlier with more time to figure out how to use all of that. We went off cold, and it probably impacted scores. The greens were pretty recently aerated, but they layout and overall experience was fantastic!
Heathland great course
Breakfast, clubhouse, lunch, etc all amenities are great. Course conditions were great. Punched greens still need time, wait a few more weeks. First tee time played front in 1 hr 40, double tee times defeat the point of paying the early tee time premium. Played the back in 2.50. Top notch course. Bag loading needs clarity and is confusing. Staff are friendly.
Beautiful facility. Very convenient to drive up, drop off bags, and then get checked in to play. Greens were slow and evidence of maintenance. Cart return and assistance with bags at the end of the round was lacking.
Great layout, not great condition
Definetly worth playing although for the money this time of year there are other courses in better condition.
Customer service lacking
Great layout but staff needs some help. At least 50 people waiting to be told to go to the 1st Tee with at least 5 staff standing around. Even the range shuttle driver was just talking with co workers while 25 people walked across 2 parking lots to the staging area.
Also there is absolutely no drinking water on the course and even the water fountain didn't work. Every hour we would see the beverage cart but until then nothing. My advice is to bring your own water/gatorade as in the summer its hot.Xould be a world class place with simple customer service improvements.
Amazing
From bag drop off to lunch the experience is worth the price. Remember to arrive early to redeem breakfast, we had no clue and missed out. Course is amazing and ball placement is key
Tricky greens
Course was in decent shape. Pace of play was great on the front 9 then we hit a wall at the 10th hole because of double teeing. Waited almost every hole on the back. Sometimes it seems good shots were not rewarded because they rolled off the side or back of greens. But all in all a good experience. I would play again
Heathland is a good name for this course
A nice course with (apparently) wide open fairways as only a few holes are tree lined, but there are other hazards and some very deep bunkers that pinch fairways. Greens were very fast and smooth, with a lot of undulation.
Being first off, We played the front nine in 1 hour and 45 minutes Then we had to wait for the rest of the groups teeing off on the back nine, and waited on every hole (and shot) on the back nine. Overall it took 4 hours and 30 minutes from when we started. 3 hours to play the back, with the between nines wait. Hence the “average” pace of play rating.
Worth mentioning, they gave us tickets for breakfast or lunch, which we didn’t know about before hand and, sadly were unable to use.
Overall, We had a very good time
It took 5 hours to play a round. Wind may have caused some delay, but it seemed that the managers of the course simply could not get the groups ahead to move any faster than a 5-hour pace. Painful as I've seen for the pace of play in a long time. Management has to do something to get the rounds to 4.5 hours or less. The course remains a very nice golf course. I've never played this course in more than 4.5 hours and played it many times in the past.
