Par 6
I’ve been playing golf for over 50 years and this is the first time I played a par 6. The overall experience was very good. I birdied 18 which made it sweeter. Definitely recommend this course.
One of my favorites
My brother in law and myself play Farmstead every year while in N Myrtle Beach. It’s a great course that is challenging but won’t beat up the average golfer. It’s pretty wide open links style layout. With a lot of bunkers. And some water. Though not a lot of forced carries. The course was a tad soft today after heavy rains in the area the first of the week. The greens were not quiet as fast as they usually are. But it was still in great shape.
Number 1 was a pretty straight medium length par 4. A nice gentle opening hole. A lot of room. 2 is one of my least favorites and the number 1 handicap. It’s a long par 4 that doglegs hard to the right with a creek crossing the fairway about 100 yards out. There is a row of pine trees along the tee that prevents you from aiming up the hole and cutting the corner. So you have to be able to hit a fade to get it within 150. 3 is a medium length par 3. 4 is a long par 5. 5 is a short par 4. 6 is a shorter par 3 with a lot of water right. 7 is a tricky par 4. Longer with water left and in front of the green. You need to take an aggressive line over the bunker on the right. 8 is a medium length par 4 dogleg right. Aim over the bunker. 9 is a shorter par 5. But someone put a tree right in the middle of the fairway you have to avoid. 10 is a straight away longer par 4. 11 is a short straight away par 4. But it’s one of the tightest fairways on the course. And a big elevated green. 12 is a short par 3 over a pond. 13 is a medium length par 4. 14 is the only par 5 on the back. And it’s pretty tight up by the green. 15 is a longer par 3 with a shallow green. 16 is a dogleg right longer par 4. With water right and across the fairway at about 100 yards. It’s a tougher hole. 17 is a short par 3 and then you get to the money maker….the par 6 18th. It’s 676 from the men’s tee. It’s pretty wide open off the tee. But once you get about 200 yards out it starts to tighten up around a pond on the left.
All in all it’s a great course. One that you will go back to year after year as evidenced by how busy it stays.
Wonderful course!
The course is in great shape. Open fairways with challenges
After last years double on 18, the par 6 in 2 states, I had to go back. I really like the layout. It had rained a lot the night prior so it was cart path only and very wet. I arrived 40 minutes early for an 8am tee time and they kinda shoved us onto the tee box without even having an option to warm up unfortunately. Overall the conditions were great just wet, at no fault of Farmstead. Will be back for sure, I greatly improved my round last year by 6 strokes shoot an 81 after start off horrid with not a single warm up minute. . Bring a gps app as only a few of the holes you aren’t too sure about where to go!
Great track… must try.
Friendly staff, decent rental clubs, good price, the punched fairways are almost fully healed. Live the par 6!
Fun course!
We snuck in at the tail end of the aerating discount prices, course was basically back to normal so it was an excellent deal for us. Everyone was very friendly including the members on the range that gave us course tips. I’ll definitely be back next year!
Excellent shape and nice layout
Would recommend Farmstead to anyone. Course was in excellent shape and has a really nice layout. Great value for the money spent to play it. It was one of the nicest courses I played while on vacation. Staff was very friendly. Starter had us to the tee on time and made sure everyone upheld the pace of play.
Why have t I heard of this place???
Oh my goodness I came across this course and called and they were very forthcoming about the aeration process which was healed in the course was in amazing shape so we went out to play and the staff the course everything was immaculate and I would put this up against $150 courses all day long
Just amazing experience
Great Course
Wonderful course. Great conditions. Great layout. Staff was great. Will be back.
SLC
Great course. It was cart path only the day we played. Made it a little more challenging
