Gary Panks designed Aliante Golf Club to be player friendly rather than score crushing. It is supposed to be a Las Vegas golf version of Cheers.

Everyone may not know your name, but there is a huge practice facility, good clubhouse digs to kick back in and most of all a 7,022-yard layout that does not play nearly as fearsome as its 139-slope rating would indicate.

Which doesn't mean there isn't plenty of variety. With 54 bunkers, 14 bridges, four ponds and two waterfalls, about all Aliante is missing is a kitchen sink on a par 5.

"Aliante is a little out of the way, but it was well worth the trip," Todd Dewey wrote in TravelGolf.com. "It was a bit surreal to be playing in a picturesque setting in that part of town and the fast pace of play made it even more enjoyable. There was absolutely no waiting."

Great conditions, fun layout

First time playing here, got a Hot Deal and saved $$. As other recent reviewers have noted, the course is in great shape. The layout is interesting and plays shorter than the actual yardage.

I took off a star because there was no course marshal and the group behind us hit into us 3 times. We were keeping up with the group ahead of us, so there was absolutely no reason for this to happen. After the biggest guy in our foursome waited at the tee and spoke to them directly, they hit into us again and we picked up their ball. They stopped doing it after that....

Finally in good shape

I played this course for many years. I stop playing it because the conditions became worse. This is the best shape. I've seen it in, in many years. Bunkers, fairways and greens are 8 out of 10. Quite a few wasps on the greens though.

Easy fun course

The course is well maintained, fun to play, and a good place to spend a day. The greens run fast, but are in good shape. Downsides are that it can get very busy, it’s almost too easy with most of the holes being almost perfectly straight with the pin visible from the tee box, there are no ball washing stations, and the drink cart is extremely slow and doesn’t have a card reader. Overall, it’s a good course for the price and I would recommend playing if you’re a local looking for a fun day off. Watch out for hole 3, it’s a short par 5 for a reason with a trap right where an average drive would normally land.

Good course, slow play, old rentals.

Good value for $53 on weekends. Poor pace of play and rentals. Started off with 10:00 tee time, but did not tee off until 10:40 due to not enough carts, then 5 plus hour round. (No Marshall?) Rental clubs were old, worn, and mismatched. (some Mizuno some Calloway, also some clubs with stiff shaft and others regular shaft) I’d play it again, but only with my own clubs.

Aliante

This course was great! But, the pace of play was terrible unless you enjoy 5 1/2 hour rounds!! Also we didn’t start at our scheduled tee time (30 minutes late). Also , they need a marshal to improve pace.

Terrible rental clubs

Staff was friendly. Course was good, no cart beverage service. The club rentals were old, heavily used and ruined the round. Great value and nice course if you bring your own clubs.

Worth the price.

Check the weather. Nice course, but man was it windy! They also short on carts. Hear they should get more this summer. Greens were even, and given the drought, fairways were in pretty decent shape.

Slow pace

Usually good but not this time. Need a Marshall on the course to expedite reasonable pace.

Pro Shop staff is unfriendly

Good for them that they’re busy enough to not care about customer service. Booking is a nightmare as a single going to this course. If you offer local rates, you should know what you’re doing.

Factory of golf

Minimal maintenance and not much character. No definition of fairway or rough. Typical municipal that’s leased and operated by a golf company. It’s a place to peg it and play, but better options are out there.
