Bear's Best Las Vegas

Course is excellent. Starter AJ is superb. Every course should thrive to have a starter like him. Kept us informed and was actually running ahead of time.

Had breakfast at the restaurant and it was good.

Now for the course

The course has a great mix of holes. Tee to green the course is very interesting. Every hole is different. Have a plan before teeing off on each hole, just banging out there doesn’t work very well. However, the real difficulty is around the greens.

The greens are fairly small (at least in the holes I noticed) so a small miss may leave you in a a bunker or off the green.. The greens are difficult and getting up and down around the greens is difficult.

On the greens the slopes can be severe. It unfair, just very important to distance control. A lengthy putt may have a several foot break. A downhill putt or chip, will roll several feet farther than you think ;don’t ask how I know).

Overall I throughly enjoyed the course and thought that it was a pretty good value for Las Vegas. Shot my worst score in years, and still would love to play again. I just don’t have time this trip.

I live in Las Vegas and heard about the course but never played it - until now. I was very satisfied with it. I played from the white tees and it was challenging, but not overly so. If you're a 20+ handicapper, I wouldn't recommend it. But for a 15 or less it gives you a good challenge and probably a satisfying round. The greens were fast and smooth. Fairways nice and green. The rough was just enough to make you think, but not extremely penal. In most cases I was able to find my ball. But if you miss the fairway wide you end up in rocky desert and most likely would have to take an unplayable penalty drop. So be careful. The course was in great shape tee to green. Practice facilities and the staff service were also great. We have a lot of excellent courses here in Vegas, but I'd play this course again without hesitation.

The course is in good condition but the bunkers needs some work. It's also definitely a course you need to play a few times to score well but I felt it was worth the cost and especially because we finished the round in 4 hours...

Bear’s Best is a complete disappointment, fairways and tee boxes, grass was very high similar to rough. No roll in the fairways, ball plugs. Greens were ok, very slow.. The course requires significant improvement to be worth $250+ per player.

Eating facilities have not improved in over 10
Years, same simple grill with limited breakfast menu.

We have played Bear's Best 2 other times and we love the course!! Great holes and excellent layout. Fairways were in great shape. The greens were a little sandy. Overall had a great time and most important will be back!!!

Great course. Loved the views of the Vegas skyline. U could see the whole strip and downtown from the back 9. Homes on the course were amazing. Golf wasn’t bad either. Lol. Would play there again in a heartbeat.

All aspects of course were really good. No complaints

Lots of walking. Golf carts not allowed into too many areas. If you are handicapped it really doesn't make a difference. VERY HILLY!

Course was in ok condition, wasn’t informed when booking the fairways and green would be overgrown. Went to get something at the turn around 4:00 and everything was shut down. Don’t even have sandwiches or hotdogs ready to go.

Maybe the rains a few weeks ago had something to do with the soft conditions and furry teeboxes and fairways. But still very playable even with a lot of mud balls and plugged fairway lies. Some greenside bunkers could use a bit more sand. Enjoyable still. Snagged a hot deal so at least it didnt break the bank.

From entry onto the grounds to driving home can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed playing at Bear’s Best!!

The course was overseeded and therefore cart path only. That should have been disclosed at the time of booking.
Therefore the fairways and greens were in a poor conditon. Furthermore the pace of play was horrible. At times there were 4 flights on a single hole. After 9 holes a marshal came along telling us that the issue of slow play has been taken care of. Well, it lasted two holes before it got even worse and no marshal was in sight. In fact they all went home and couldn't care less what's going on.
In addition the starter was pretty rude in telling (prompting) us which tees to play off without knowing our HCP.
We came with high hopes for good day of golf, but all in all it was a very disappointing experience, not worth the money and we definitely can't recommend to play there.

Course was in great shape and they're doing seasonal maintenance, but wouldn't have booked a Friday afternoon 6 hour round if I knew it was cart path only.
