After a round on the Duke at Rancho El Dorado, head to Silver Spur Grill for breakfast, lunch or dinner on the patio, which offers vistas of the Estrella Mountains as well as that 18th hole you just wrapped up on.

The course is a great track with issues.
This is a great track but the course has many issues. It is obvious that whoever owns or runs the course is trying to do it on a show string and that makes no sense. There were multiple employees near the check-in area but that is the only place I saw any employees. The driving range could be awesome with a few inexpensive improvements. First metal club holders so you can put your clubs there. The practice trap could be raked smooth. It had craters in it so how can anyone possible take a practice shot. There is plenty of practice area but the best I can say about it is that is was totally lacking care. There was no starter at the first tee so when we got there we were not sure who we were playing with as there was a back-up because of an earlier frost delay, again chaos. The course itself lacked maintenance and I did not see a single person doing any work on the course. There were no rangers on the course so the pace of play went unchecked. The round took 5 hours and there were multiple holes that we had at least one group waiting to hit. A ranger could have easily solved that issue. The bunkers were poorly maintained and there were many, many rocks in them. Now for the positive. I have to say the layout of this course is wonderful, there is plenty of challenge and with a little effort and maybe so labor and expenditures on seeding, bunker improvement and waste bunker maintenance, this course could literally be spectacular. The par 5's have the distance ans do the par 3's. Plenty of distance and room for great play. The owner's and operator's of this course could spend some money and it would easily come back to them in increased fees which people would be glad to pay for the improvements.
Good Condition
The course was in one of the best conditions in the Valley. I was impressed. It is a simple but good layout and a great course to practice on.
Great morning of golf @ The Duke
Staff is friendly and welcoming. Morgan (beer cart) is awesome. Course was in great shape! Challenging but rewarding. Would definitely play again!
Nice course
Good course, TOUGH pin placement on front 9. Idk if it was greens keeper revenge day or what but they were comical. Literally pins placed right next to/on 4’ grade slopes or 4’ away from edge of green. Like for a Sunday pin placement didn’t need to be in incredibly tough spots, pace of play was good but could have been better if groups were not 3 plus putting.
Nice Course
It was my first time playing this course. It was extremely windy and that made things more challenging.
The course was in good shape and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
This course is a little jewel located a little out of the way. I highly recommend giving it a try.
Speedy Morning round
Teed off at 630 am - we zoomed around in 2.5 hrs. Staff let us go early and with 2 people it was a fast round!
We had breakfast after we finished. The food was great and plentiful. Worth staying to enjoy the food and drink.
Well organised staff
Played the Duke off and on for years , always enjoy playing here , perhaps rodents hurting areas near tee boxes somehow have to be controlled , it will get worse ?? Other than then that love playing the Duke
Awesome course and friendly staff
Booked this course for a bachelor party, had a last minute addition to make it 5 guys instead of 4 and the guy in the pro shop was extremely understanding and accommodated the change. Course is in great condition, each hole is challenging in its own way. The bunker sand is soft and light. Course has an awesome spur logo and they sell hats with them on it in the pro shop. Highly recommend playing this course, it’s absolutely worth the drive from Phoenix.
Not as good as years ago
Sent us out as a 2some with the course full of 4somes. We waited constantly. Fairways very tight lies. Greens ok. Cart gal was very nice!
Should play from the tips for a good challenge. Brings traps and hazards more into play.
