Brooksville Country Club
About
Brooksville Country Club offers a uniquely scenic experience with a rolling landscape covered with live oaks and remnants of the abandoned limestone mine still present throughout. The surroundings are unlike any other golf courses in central Florida, which has made it popular amongst both locals and visitors. Besides the beautiful scenery, the terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that make each hole unique. The traditional layout features contoured, rolling fairways and four memorable holes that play along and through a century-old quarry. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging as you head towards the back nine, which was designed by Bobby Weed. It is a layout that demands precision and rewards skillful shotmaking. In addition to the unique setting and challenging design, Brooksville Country Club also boasts immaculately conditioned fairways and greens.

This quarry hoole will challenge your driver and mid irons. Photo submitted by Edsgolfin on 10/18/2012
Must play course.
The front and back nine are as different as day and night. Typical Florida course front nine and the back nine you play through a quarry very difficult very exact tee shots demanded and very scenic.
Brooksville golf
Had 7:30 tee time. arrived early (7:05). sat in cart and watched 4 some tee off. the golfers were off the first hole and the starter had no one started. Asked if we could go since there was just the two of us. He didn't answer and kept driving back and forth to the parking lot. looking for players. Finally was sent off with another 2 some. As far as the course condition, very poor. The greens were pretty good, but way to many bare spots on the tee boxes and fairway.
Worst experience
Played this course for the first time. They scheduled a tournament thr same day. Myself and my brother in law were pressured numerous times to speed up play..ok..drive right into thr group I front of us..if you are going to pressure your customer don't open up tee times on tournament days. We skipped thr last two holes all together due to being pressured so much it was not worth it and totally not a fin experience.
Horrible experience
Was pressured to play fast due to a tournament. If you have a tournament scheduled then don't open up tee times. I paid good money to play and my and my brother in law could not even play the last two holes because we were pressured so much to hurry up it was not worth the pressure. Horrible experience and horrible way to treat paying customers. I guess my business is not worth it.
Very disappointing
This course is a fun tract, and if you don't hit a straight ball, it will be tough to score well, but honestly the golf superintendent should be fired. Several greens are in horrible shape, several fairways have no grass in some areas, and there are too many golfers who need to learn golf etiquette.
Brooksville G & CC
Hidden gem in central Florida for all skill levels.
Several challenging holes and all in all a great layout. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and a renovated 19th hole with good food. Bit dry but you can't have everything with excellent green fees. Great golfing!
Cool place to play!
I really enjoyed this course. It's been my favorite course I have played this year because of the few holes you are playing downhill. Hole 12 & 13 are pretty cool holes kind of makes you feel like you aren't in Florida. The environment is very laid back. We played on a Friday afternoon so it wasn't to busy. The only reason I gave the course conditions a 4 star is because it has some holes with rough looking greens. Other than that I recommend anyone near or far to check this spot out!
Fun course, Greens are the drawback
We drove from St Pete here for the course, and had a great time! We played as a foursome and had a group behind us playing from the very front tees basically breathing on our necks every hole and clapping when we swing (sarcastically). Our tee time was at 750am and we had the carts turned in and by 11:58am barely a 4 hour round, marshal still came up to us and said we were playing at a 5.5 hour pace..
Anyway back to golf, the greens need help. Mainly the only problem with the course. Bare patches and sanded areas on a lot of the greens
needs water
greens were good to fair but they need to water and work on the fairways. cart paths etc.
Good course, better staff
Staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. Give them a raise. Approx 4 greens need immediate work. They are shot out. Had to move ball laterally to putt on grass. The quarry holes on the back are the best part of the course. Played with 4 mouth breathing, nose picking gap toothed buddies on Masters Sunday. Got home in time to watch Scotty win!
THE course is excellent
We have golfed here numerous time and really enjoy the coarse. It is too bad that the people who golf here think that its okay to leave there cigarette buts on the greens and not follow the rules of the coarse of filling their divot and picking up the markers and throwing them . Its a beautiful coarse and enjoy golfing here.
Good course
The front nine is a pretty good layout. The back nine, however, has four holes right inside a quarry, very beautiful and challenging.
Average golf course
This golf course looks like needs more water, dry fairways, lot of dirt, ome greens damaged due not having grass. Maybe concrete car path.
Ony 12, 13 and 17 holes are unique, others just avarage. For the money, could be in better shape.
Overall conditions weren’t terrible but fairways had patchy spots all over, greens were slow and burnt out throughout. Probably about half of them had patchy spots all over. Pace was extremely slow once I hit 7th hole. Was a single and took 4 1/2 hours to play 18- ended up pairing up with a 2some on 11 and we were still waiting 5 minutes a hole.
Is every bunker a waste bunker ?
Why is Sand such a hard to find Commodity in Florida ?
Bunkers were bad , even to look at.
Green Speed was very good..
Beverage Cart Girl would have helped, I’ll drive it if there’s no one available.
In closing, a scenic, therapeutic way to spend a Saturday for sure,
Spanish Moss is 100% better than snow.
