18 hole at Sherman Hill GC Photo submitted by Gilbert3585586 on 05/24/2013
Course is ok. Amenities are lacking.
There is only one Porta potty on the whole course. No drinking water when the Temps are close to 90. No beverage cart. Course is in ok shape. Several greens on the back none are sand three feet from the edges.
1st time in a year
Same old pace of play issues older folks and newbies with zero clue about playing "ready" golf, it shouldn't be normal to take over 5 hours to play 18 holes. 3 practice swings like they see on TV perfect weather for golf. The course was just okay hardly any grass the putting greens were nice except the back still having damage since over 2-3 years ago, I would go again because of the great layout but be warned about the bad course conditions overall
Poor greens
2 or 3 greens were very poor. Putting on greens with only sand was not worth the price. Tees and fairways were good.
Sherman Hills
Better than most courses in the area, but they are starting to lose a few greens on the back nine!
review
My buddies and I have played Sherman Hills quite a lot over the past couple of years....it's always in fine condition....greens are fast and smooth for the most part; however, there are just a couple of greens that need attention....the fairways are nice and wide and the rough is not very deep....not too much water or sand hazards.....a very nice course where a high handicapper can score if you just keep the ball in play......
Quick round, overall good visit
I took my son to play here for the first time Easter morning and overall, we had a great visit. The greens on the back nine were in very rough shape, though it looks like some rehabilitation is taking place. The pro shop was helpful and We were also able to rent a set of clubs at the last minute.
Carts are dated, we found golf balls were stuck under the brake pedal that we didn’t know about until we were going down a hill, could’ve ended badly! Lol but outside of that, we had a good visit and will return.
First time playing the course, it was in great shape. Plenty of grass on the fairways greens were good staff were very friendly. I would definitely play this course again.
Front 9 ok back not.
The front nine on this course is in pretty good shape, enjoyable to play and if I only played the front nine, I would give this four stars, but on the back nine they were two greens in a row that were the worst I’ve ever played. They were small greens, and the outer part of the green was all sand, and the inner part of the green was all bumpy grass the green after that had about 1/4 that was bad. . Other holes were ok but we paid for 18. 👎
Love this course!
I love this course! The elevation changes, the links style setup and the condition all make this course fun. The front 9 is pretty wide open while the back 9 is more narrow fairways and smaller greens. The only negative are 2 greens, 14 and 15, that were pretty rough. Will be back!!
