Perfect day at the course
Early November and it was 70 degrees, what more could you ask for. Course had recent maintenance, but was still very playable and challenging
This was my first time playing this course and I was very excited to play the course because I knew it held the John Deere Classic. I feel my experience was altered because it was 46 degrees and I was in multiple layers freezing cold. Unfortunately, when we asked for hand warmers , they were out which turned out to be a huge factor because that was the one thing that killed me out there. On the corner between 9 and 10 there was a food stop which had really good food but it was $7 for a hotdog. Overall I was happy with the experience but I didn’t quite feel like it was PGA tour course conditions
great course but rough weather
The weather was terrible with fog and rain early on but it cleared toward the end of the round. The course was drenched because of the rain and it was cart path only. That is why we gave it an average condition rating, We drove 21,2 hours so thats why we played. We have played the course under better conditions and would highly recommend it.
Amazing Value
Beautiful course. Very tough. Approach shots critical. Landing and holding greens.
Some narrow drive shoots also.
Well designed, very well kept. Not a walkers course as its extremely undulating. Traps were great. Very scenic. Good amenities. Good practice facility.
Only comment I'd make is to put GPS in the carts.
Windy Chill in the Air
Beautiful fall day to be outside at JDC . This is the golfgem of our area, so I try to play one more time before the season closes. Though windy w/ playing conditions rough it was both entertaining and challenging. The variety of tee boxes and yardage plays make this playable for most levels of golfer. Though yesterday had some challenges. Great day for golf.
too long for front tees for women
not fair to women or junior golfers from front tees rough too high slows down play lots of dead spots
Personal Top 5 Round
Deere Run was an absolute delight. The course was in fantastic condition despite heavy rainfall the night before, pace was excellent, and the staff and amenities were as good as hoped. In my opinion it’s the best value play in the state. What a treat.
Friendly and Challenging
Course has a super friendly staff. The course was challenging enough to keep you wondering what was around the next corner.
Premium price, average service and amenities
Got to the course and we were unable to get a golf cart up to about 45 minutes before our tee time due to a shortage of carts? So we went to the practice range where we were unable to hit balls because they were none! The few balls I was we able to hit I had to pick up from the range myself.
Then we get to the tee box only to be told the bad news by the starter that the 10 minutes of rain they got before we hit the first tee had caused them to change the course status to cart path only. The rain literally lasted 10 minutes and was very light. She said something about the course conditions and the amount of play they were getting. We expressed our displeasure at that decision and tee'd off anyways.
Two holes later the starter comes by and says the course conditions have now been upgraded to 90 degrees, wow shocking,
It was a 5 hour round, We waited on every single hole to tee off, sometimes up to 10 minutes. No one ever came by to speed u the pace or check on us except for the overpriced beverage cart.
Would sure seem to me that they were way more concerned about the course and their weekend tournament than to satisfy the wants and needs of someone who was looking forward to playing the course.
Its expensive and the service level was nowhere near the price paid. Not worth the drive for me,
Amazing Experience
To play a course were some of the best have played was just a neat experience. Course was in great shape and gorgeous all around.
Massive unfixed ball marks and unfilled divots
It's a beautiful layout but for a TPC course I could not believe all of the unfixed ball marks and unfilled divot's. There were a couple times during the round that I moved my ball to rather than fix all of the ball marks in my line. There must not be enough money in the budget to a have the grounds crew repair them. The course should put signs on carts and near greens to take care of their ball marks and divots. One would think this would be common sense but apparently its not. We enjoyed the day and the views of the river and the golf course are beautiful.
TPC Deer Run
Course is excellent will definitely play again. Staff is very friendly.
TPC Deer Run more than a name
This was one of the best courses I have played. In a time of turmoil it's nice to be able to enjoy the little things. Watching an actual deer on its namesake made me appreciate life.
