Great Course - A Couple Disappointments
Always enjoy playing Deere Run. Course was in excellent shape except for bunkers. Bunkers have great sand but were like concrete due to lack of maintenance. Greens were in best condition I have ever seen them. Check-in staff and starter very friendly and professional. Bag and cart staff usually very attentive after the round but this time just told us to drive our carts to the parking lot to take care of our own clubs.
Better than it looks on TV
I’ve watched the tournament for years, but it never gives you the appreciation for the changes in elevation, how exposed some of the greens are to the wind or how the back nine gives you so many different looks. Well worth the cost as it’s a premium experience for sure.
Very friendly staff…beautiful facility!
A special shout out to Bruce who was so friendly and helpful at the bag drop! We had our son with us, who wasn’t golfing, but he ensured we were able to get a second cart. He drove the second cart out to us when were we were warming up. Bruce went above and beyond.
It’s a gorgeous course with a very challenging design and scenic views. We llook forward to returning again this Fall, on a day it’s not cart path only. A tremendous value too and well worth the trip from the Western Suburbs of Chicago.
The only reason I rated pace of play average is because it was cart path-only but that is because they are prepping the course for the John Deere Classic in a couple of weeks. Additionally, there was a foursome in front of us who were entirety clued out on golf etiquette and managing their pace of play, which backed up the course.
Catering to Local Junior Tournament & PGA Tour
Ordinary support—a starter & prompt availability of carts & consistent service at the beverage/snack area—was absent, apparently because a junior tournament was held in the morning.
It would be nice to give notice before one schedules a round that The course has transitioned to cart path only.
TThere”s a bunker for every shot!!!
Playing on on PGA course has always been a “Bucket List “ item so paying $70didn”t seem too bad.The fellow I played with only payed $59 because he lived near by. It was a great course and I’m glad we played it. I didn’t count all the bunkers on the course ,I went in them!!! . Just a wonderful experience .Oh Yea the greens were enormous .
Upscale golf.
Mostly good aspects of the day, some not. Staff was friendly, course was in great shape, challenging for 15 handicappers. Practice range was great. But some things missing for an upscale golf facility. No GPS on the carts. No help after the round to clean the clubs or take them to the bag drop. Just had to tote my dirty clubs myself to my car. All the staff disappeared.
Destination Golf Course
This is one of my favorite courses in all of the Midwest. Fantastic layout. Challenging for all levels of player skill. In fantastic condition, staff is wonderful.
PJ51
Great course and in great condition with the John Deere classic right around the corner, the only downside was that it was cart path only. Great time all around.
10 freaking 10
Best conditioned course you will play for the price
