A Must-Play Course!
Whitetail Ridge is one of the most tranquil courses you'll ever play. You won't ever hear car traffic. Marshals will leave you alone. The players are always respectful of the game. It's as good as Cantigny (for at least half the price). It's definitely worth it if you're willing to drive to the edge of Chicagoland!
Pga quality
1st time playing the course won't be the last. Fabulous course with outstanding conditions. Feels like your on tour. Very challenging bring your a game.
Can’t be true
If you read this far keep reading I put up poor marks because I don’t want this Pristine course to become public knowledge. It truly is a fantastic course layout challenging and just beautiful
Great layout
Love this course...they might want to hand out a flyer to golfers about how to treat a green. Got behind some groups who had no clue how to walk on a green. Nasty scuff marks and just unnecessary gouges on the greens. Not a mark on the course maintenance, just ignorant golfers.
Excellent golf course- very well maintained. The course has a lot of character and offers the golfers to male risk / reward choices. Great holes both on front and back nine. Tough par 5s and par 3s - gem of a golf course tucked away in the far western suburbs
Target golf, some open holes
Great course conditions, great driving range, fun challenging layout, scenic course, undulations abound, hilly course cause you tee off from some high perches. Definitely will play again!
This is a mini pga championship course...
The 1st hole is awesome....birdi opportunity all day long, and that's where it ends....this is a great challenging course, especially from the blacks..the looks off the tee boxes are awesome...the carries seem farther than they are, so it makes for a great mind game...the course seems well maintained...if the greens are relatively fast....this is a top 5 course in the area...
Fairly new course, some trees not yet mature. Front 9 is flat with water in play on several holes. Course is maintained well. Bunkers are prone to washouts on some holes, due to the design. Some have been removed already due to this.
Well stocked pro shop. Full service restaurant.
Good bev cart service on front side.
Back 9 is dry, as in no alcohol.
Very well kept
Found this hot deal on Golfnow. The course and a few thin fairways, but for the most part it was forgiving. The entire course was very well kept.
Tale of Two Nines
I am just not a fan of the front 9. Flat and pretty featureless and when the wind blows it can be very difficult. I started off with 2 straight birdies so difficulty is not why I don't care for the front. Greens roll true though and once you get past the front the back nine is a real treat.
Every single hole is memorable and no two are similar. Some real risk reward shots and love the combination of tree lined and wide open fairways. Into the wind the 245 yd par 3 14th is just a brute from the back tees. The back 9 is one of my favorites and I always look forward to playing here. My pars were high index players and in 15mph winds probably lost 12 balls or more, so bring plenty.
Whitetail
Great course, doesn't play long, however will punish you if you don't out the ball in the right spot. Friendly people all over the course. Megan the cart girl was awesome along with the bartenders at the restaurant. Would play again!
Course is in Good Shape
A pretty windy day made Whietail difficult off the back tees. But the course is in great shape for this early in the year.
The greens were faster and rolled with more break than anticipated. The bunkers looked like they could use a "fluff" but overall a great day. We keep coming back because it's one our of favorite courses out this way. Be sure to grab a hot dog at the turn!
Solid
In spite of the persistent cold, we snuck a round in. Hard to rate the course conditions as the wrather haant warmed up yet, but considering the time of year the course is in good shape. No conplaints. Always a good experience.
