Whitetail Ridge Golf Club

A wonderful light wind sunny upper 50's late afternoon round at Whitetail. Course was not crowded and our foursome enjoyed a 415 pace even after letting a couple of singles play thru. A tad pricey for time of season but the greens were rolling fairly well. Fairways are still a bit wet/sloppy so course is playing long. Really didn't have any major mudball....a nice surprise. All areas of the course were in decent shape even the traps. A well designed fun track with good shot values. Driving range (off mats at current time) Solid clubhouse with showers. Recommend. Whitetail will be in really good shape this season once the grass starts growing.

Although the tee markers have been taken off the course, the course remains in excellent shape including tee boxes, fairway, traps and greens. This course has a variety of holes which differ in elevation from the front to the back nine. They have new carts which operate very nicely and also include a windshield and USB ports on both the driver and rider side. Range was still open with 3 mats available to hit from. Might have been the last 50 degree weather for a while. Always a great course to play.

Played here a few times in the last couple years. Always in excellent shape. Never a slow round, and a nice layout that has variety without being overly difficult or easy. One of my favorites to play and a complete steal if you get a hot deal.

Read my review 8/30/17 below. Whitetail was well maintained and in very good shape for the end of October. Greens rolling well and with lighter play the old ball marks not repaired properly aren't as much of an issue. With all the rains the track is a tad wet with lots of grass clippings in the fairways and a few ponded sand traps however they are maintained as best as can be expected. Driving range off mats still open but halfway house/services closed for the season with no water jugs on the course. A fun track. Recommended. $30/$40 value with good facilities all around.

Staff was friendly. Course was in good shape. Some greens had ball marks that weren't repaired or were poorly repaired. I'm sure this course gets a lot of play.

Course is always beautiful and well manicured. Only negative today was that the concession stand was closed, and nobody was in the restaurant to even get a simple hot dog at 1:30 pm as the signage indicated. Beverages and an assortment of chips and candy was the only thing available from the pro shop. Better then nothing at all. I'm sure this was just due to a staffing issue. Will definitely play here again.

A very enjoyable day at Whitetail Ridge. A flat water infused front nine followed by a back nine with the right amount of elevation changes to keep your interest. Not a lot of shade on the course but water jugs were filled, divot mix on the carts and all the pertinent information was given upon checking in. In excellent condition all areas. Wonderful green sizes and shapes with proper speed nicely contoured. Country vistas can be enjoyed. Clubhouse with showers and a welcoming bar restaurant area above the proshop overlooking the 1st hole and driving range. Decent grass range. All in all a well designed operation from course to facilities. 4.5 stars. Downgrading due to ridiculous cost of a range ball token ($6.50) and fairly expensive beverage prices. Highly recommended...worth a play at least twice a season. A lovely drive though sod farms and corn fields down IL 126.

I have played this course a few times.
It has always been in good condition.
Offers a few nice risk reward holes and is just a fun course to play.

Make sure you bring plenty of balls if you plan on hitting out of bounds.

Really nice course. The layout is challenging but doesn't overly punish your offline shots. Greens were fast but ran true.

This was my first time at the course. I've always driven by it . The staff behind the counter were very friendly . My golf friend arrived early and we were able to get our right away. There was no one in front or behind us. We enjoyed doing 18 holes at our pace and we finished within 3 1/2 hours.
