Course was in great condition. Paired with some great guys...had a blast, thanks!
Nice open layout
Overall a nice course with very wide and friendly fairways. My miss tends to be a big 20 yard hook but never did I get into real trouble when I hit one poorly. Bunkers were nice with heavy coarse sand but were in good condition. Greens were very slow and rolled true. A little pricey relative to other courses I’ve played in the area.
Best Value in Vegas for mid/high handicappers
Best course for the money in Las Vegas! Conditions are almost always superb. Greens may be a little slower, but very comfortable- smooth enough and not very difficult. The rough can be penal- right now (November, 2018) it's about 3" thick, juicy and difficult to get any good contact out of. But the fairways are wide and nice, the sand well maintained and the course aesthetics are beautiful, making it always a fun track to play. Normal round a neat 4- 4 1/4 hours in duration. Not particularly difficult, only a few tough holes and most single-digit handicappers might be pressed to find much challenge, but for the rest of us it's a very pretty course that's both interesting and a joy to play. Great staff, great layout, great conditions... my favorite course in town. I've lived here nearly 20 years and I still drive the 30 miles from my home to play here whenever the weather is nice and I can get a good rate- and I have 9 courses I can play within 15 minutes of home.
Turf and greens were excellent! Liked the yardage targets on the range as well as providing included range balls with the round. Nice mix of hazards and water features.
Carts have GPS and scoring. I've never had a bad time here!
Greens in outstanding shape. Great track. Really enjoyed this course, would absolutely play again!! Much better than Revere Golf Course.
Great layout, slow play
Overall had a great time.
-not enough carts. Course only has 72 carts and the staff has to scramble with their 8 minute tee times
-slow greens(probably this time of year)
Fun course, Pretty views, - SLOW greens
This was my first time playing Chimera Golf Club. I really liked the course, other than the super slow greens. These were the slowest, shaggiest, longest grass greens I have played all year long.
The course has many elevation changes and doglegs with raised greens and some carries over water. Most of the fairways fairly wide and forgiving. Greens are large and undulating. I just wish they would cut the greens shorter or cut them at all. It was VERY evident the greens had not been cut in several days.
They offer Golf Boards, which is a fun option. The course provides GREAT views of Las Vegas and the surrounding valley. The carts have GPS which is definately a plus and very helpful. The only problem is our cart stopped working on hole #15. We sent five messages to the club house that we needed a new cart. We started sending messages to the clubhouse on hole #11 when the battery light began to blink and the cart had a very difficult time making it up hills. When a new cart was brought out to us, the cart attendant was very apologitic and sincere. He was very nice and helpful, I just wish it would not have taken four holes for them to bring us a new cart and one of us having to walk the entire time because the cart would not go with both players in the cart.
Love this course! Great condition in the fairways and rough...the greens were slow but true. We used the golfboards and absolutely loved them. They sped up play and made it a great experience. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Very Nice Course but too high a premium for vacationer
Played early on a Thursday morning. Fairways and greens in great condition and some great views and challenging holes. My only complaint was having to pay 75% more than my playing companions who were local. I can see 25% or so but this was ridiculous and does not motivate me to come back. Maybe they don't need vacationers $$?
Red Rock Arroyo- double. Angel Park- double. Siena- double. Legacy- double. Las Vegas Golf Club- double...etc, etc. Your 75% premium actually seems like a pretty good deal for a Winter vacationer in Las Vegas- especially for a course like this that anywhere in SoCal would cost more than the $100 you spent here. Try actually doing some research and comparisons before complaining about your green fees at Chimera.
As always Chimera was in great shape... My only concern was the greens were a bit slower than I like to play
Lush and green
Course was in great shape for time of year. Greens a bit slow but overall very good. Nice layout with GPS on carts. Enjoyed the round.
OMG - Hidden Gem
This was my 2nd time playing the Las Vegas area. None of the travel specialists picked this course. I actually just found it by internet search. First, great carts with GPS - many more expensive course dont have. Fairways and greens in great shape. Staff incredibly friendly.
This is a must play in the vegas area. About 20-25 minutes from strip with traffic but worth it.
Chimera Golf Course
they are getting ready to overseed and they will be closed 17 days at the end of Sept. so they have been prepping the course for that process so cosmetically is does not please the eye but the greens were in great shape.
great course 20 minutes from strip
course has elevation changes and doglegs with raised greens and some carries over water. most fairways fairly wide and greens are large and undulating. Pace is good with tee times not to tight. Clubhouse has good selection of food and a happy hour everyday.
