Cypress Point Country Club
About
Cypress Point Country Club is conveniently located within minutes of the Norfolk International Airport and the Virginia Beach Town Center. Despite its accessibility, the golf course feels peacefully isolated, making it a great choice for golfers who are looking for the convenience of a city course with the pace and beauty of the countryside. It's a layout that is as challenging as it is scenic with strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides and fairways. The occasional water hazard also comes into play. The golf course will challenge players of all skill levels but it's not overly punishing for high handicappers. Beginners will still be able to enjoy a round at Cypress Point Country Club. Besides the course, the club is also popular for its practice facility, which has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

Decent track
Course layout is good. Driving range was pretty bad, and the tee boxes on most holes were pretty terrible too. Greens were in great shape and the course itself was pretty fun. Overall 3.2 out of 5
Rough
The course had just went through aeration and was still 60 bucks to play. The driving range was in terrible shape and was like hitting off clay the entire time. I understand some of the conditions are not the courses fault but a reduced rate or at least a heads up would have been nice.
Great Course. My favorite when in town
As always I enjoy playing this course. It is challenging and well maintained. Pace of play is refreshing because it is never overbooked causing “traffic jam “.
Staff as sub par
Golf now needs to correct their confirmation. The email read 10:28-2:28 for round duration, 4 hour round is pretty standard. I told my buddy 10:28. Further down the tee time is listed as 11:28.
The pro shop is under construction for remodeling, two fellas one was pleasant the other was not.. it took awhile for any of us to figure out the issue, but he said nope we’re booked until 11:20 so if no one takes that time you can wait the hour plus and head out then. We watched for 26 minutes before anyone went off. Why be difficult ?
Out of the house
The conditions were cloudy and cool. The fairways were fast in dry places and slow in the damp ones.
The greens were in good shape for the winter. Being winter all grass was brown and dead with no real lies to be had.
Great course around this area
This is my 2nd time playing this course with the first being 3-4 years ago. Forgot how the course layout was but remembered why I enjoyed playing this course so much. For the time of year the course was in great shape. If I had time and played more often during the week/month I would become a member in a heartbeat especially due to monetary value.
Nice course!
Very nice course. Well designed and maintained. Staff was very friendly.
Great Shape
The course is in great shape. Weather was great also.
Solid conditions, slow play
Course was in solid shape. Tee boxes and fairways were in good condition, and the greens looked good but rolled a bit slow. Pace was slow throughout our round — some brutal foursomes ahead that didn’t know how to play even semi-ready golf. Finished round in over 4.5 hours and course is rated at 4 hours and 2 minutes — not terrible but round would’ve been more enjoyable with some on-course support to keep things moving
Terrible pace, price, layout, and overall experience
First time playing here, had two groups infront of us at the start so didn’t get to tee off at tee time. No starter. It was slightly busy which is understandable in this season so we were playing waiting golf for the front 9 as a twosome. Coming up to the turn there is a foursome on the 10th tee box walking to the fairways not riding in carts, with another twosome waiting on them. Went into clubhouse to ask and it seemed the entire staff was in the AC not caring about the bottle neck at #10 right outside. Course is super tight, lots of houses. Not paying 60 to come back here that’s for sure.
Waste of a good course
The course was in good shape. Pro shop was rude and unprofessional. No organization. Course was cart 90 dgree and no cart on par 3s. Group of three in front on me hit two balls each, drove cart on every par 3 fairway, drove to ball in fairway from tee. Pro was more concerned with lessons then he was with anything else. 4 1/2 hours to play 18. Seems No one wants to repair divots. Course needs a Marshall.
