Forget everything you've heard about that gentler, kinder Pete Dye at Paiute. When you step onto the Wolf Course at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort, the legendary architect with the cold hacker heart returns. And then some. The newest of the three Paiute courses, comes in at a staggering 7,604 yards.

And it's an isolated 7,604 yards. You don't only get lost in your round here. You could almost literally get lost in the desert with a few wrong turns off the cart path. Drives that go flying off target deep into the desert areas are unlikely to found by another human ever. A rattlesnake might be keeping your Pro V1s company for the rest of their days. This is stunning scenery, capable of leaving the most cynical hacker open mouthed.

Paiute Wolf is just a far enough drive away from the Sin City hustle that it's likely the top, high-end course you can easily get on last minute in the Vegas valley. It also might be the best of them all.

Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Kwetoo-Unuv Course.

Fantastic scenery and course. Would like a bit more service.

Quick 30 min drive from the strip, but you feel like you're much farther away. Awesome mountain desert scenery. I genuinely can't understand why you'd want to play somewhere in the city when this is available. So many good vistas throughout the course. The course is great. Challenging but playable. Some HUGE greens. 5 tees make it good for everyone. Loved almost everything about this course. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Only gripe, and it's small. The service could be better. For a high end course that costs over $200 a round, I expect a bit of service. And I'm ready to tip for it! Outside of our bags being loaded on carts at the beginning, we didn't really get any other attention. When we found our cart and clubs, nobody told us where to go. There's two ranges, but no one asked us which course we were playing and pointed us to the right range. We had to flag someone down to ask where the first tee is. We saw the bev cart only once on the back nine, and it was on the 11th tee box. Hot, no water jugs or access on the course other than at the turn and what was in your cooler to start. And then when we finished, no club cleaning (was ready with my tip! This is still a thing, right?), and I carried my own bag back up the hill to the bag drop. These are not big things - but at a super nice course it really adds to the experience when you feel like the staff is anticipating your needs.

Would still go back over and over, great course.

Painfully slow play

Spread out the tee times more. Painfully slow pace of play and staff unwilling to help. Stop packing tee times in. Much better options closer to the strip.

Great course, great greens!

This course was awesome, greens are so important for me and they were pure. The Wolf course ran great time just a hair over 4 hours so it was a good pace. Only thing I was upset about was the store was closed at 430 when we finished and I wanted to buy a shirt/hat :(. Hopefully I can get one shipped to me. Otherwise great experience.

Great!

We have already played in Paiute but not at the Wolf, we played the Sun Mountain that was marvelous! Wolf was also nice but there were more players at this one (maybe because it is the newest) and pace was a little slow. I liked both but prefer the Sun. The view and the grass on both was soooo nice!!!

Fun, course

We had some wind that was challenging but it was still warm. The cart girl came by often and the starters and bag handlers were all pleasant. The pro shop and restaurant were closed after our round that ended about 5pm. We would have liked to grab a bite and do some shopping. The course was in good shape and we had a fun time. We will definitely be back..
