The Hills Course at Red Hawk
About
The Resort at Redhawk is known to golf travelers around the globe and is one of the highlights of the grand golf destination that is the High Sierra. Located in the town of Sparks, next door to Reno, the Hills Course is one of two 18-hole runs at Redhawk and draws raves for its challenging play and incredible scenery.
Designed by three-time U.S. Open champion Hale Irwin, the Hills Course offers players a Scottish links-style layout that has small and dastardly greens, dramatic elevation changes, deep bunkering and immaculate views of one of the most scenic golf destinations in the United States.
While the Hills Course is a must play in the Reno area and will challenge long hitters with a 127 slope rating, Irwin added another touch to the resort. A unique, 18-hole putting green will have players competing, all the while improving their putting game, helping to make Redhawk and the Hills Course a standout in the High Sierra.

Good playability
Played In early season and the course was in very good shape. Will play it again.
Downhill
This course has really gone downhill. Conditions were terrible. Tee boxes uneven. Fairways filled with divots. Un raked bunkers. Burnt greens. No marshal so the pace of play as terrible.
Don't know how to give a good rating when course was closed
Would love to get a refund being course was closed don't know how to get ahold of golf pass bought through to teeoff would've loved to play the course but I'm out a hundred dollars and didn't get to play
Great experience
Wish there was more amenities on the course available while playing but all in great experience and challenge for anyone experience or Rookie player to enjoy them selves
Fast pace,nice fairways and greens
The course is in very good shape for November. Completed 18 in 3.5 hrs
Nice day
Pace of play was great considering the course was packed. Seemed a little under-staffed.
Greens are firm but receptive.
Only quibble is a lvl of consistency with the bunkers. Some are soft and fluffy. Others (around 9, for example) are hard-packed.
The sand
I've played the course many times before it's a nice course and it's in good shape. The thing that impressed most of all was the sand they had it filled recently making it some of the best in town.
