Sad
I haven't been here in about two years. For a five year stretch I plaid here about 60 times. Ground squirrels everywhere. All beat up.
Good course
Overall, I like the golf course because it's got a good mix of hard and easy holes. The maintenance is a little lacking compared to a year ago as some of the greens have yellow patches and no water in the ball cleaning equipment
Great 9
Compared to Lake Chabot Executive back 9, this one is way better.
Got through this course in just under 2 hours, given I stayed on some holes longer to practice some shots.
Also The driving here is nice too.
Bad management policy
Went to Fremont Golf course just to practice putting to kill some time while my son was practicing basketball. I walked into the clubhouse and asked if the putting green was open. The young man (teen) said yes, so I proceeded but then he stopped me and said “ you have to buy a bucket of range balls”. I said “I’m just going to putt, I don’t need range balls”, to which he insisted that in order for me to use the putting green that I had to spend $9.00 on a bucket of balls that I didn’t need. I thought it was absurd, told him so, and left with the most foul taste in my mouth. Why would you... never mind. I’ll never set foot in this place again. Stupid management.
Quite bad
It’s terrible....no grass in the fairways...greens r in a very bad condition...It’s like this course is not maintained at all. I know it’s cheap...but I’ve played in other cheap courses that are well maintained ( balckberry farms in Cupertino for example) Don’t think I am going back to this place
Absolute Dump
Absolute dump and the owner is a basket case. Fairways look better in Fallujah.
Absolute tire fire
I grew up on this course, probably played it 200 times between 2005-2010. It was never a great course, but it was at one time a golf course. It is no longer a golf course. No watering, no maintenance, choppy greens, unusable tee boxes and bunkers, incredibly unfriendly staff. Just an absolute disaster on all fronts. Hopefully someone buys this place and either shuts it down or sinks a couple million into saving it.
Poor Customer Service
Paid on Golf Now for 2 rounds for this 9 hole course. When done the the guy at the desk rudely hassled me, saying I only paid for one round. Showed the guy my receipt on Golf Now flor 18 holes. He rudely said he hates Golf Now. I said not my problem. He grunted at me. I said to him you should apologize for you rudeness. He grunted again. I walked away. Will never play this course again.
horrible customer service. Fairways are ridden with hard dirt. Tee boxes are non-existent. A sad place to play.
False Advertising, Poor Service, Painful Pace, Bad Condition
At check in, was informed that the tee time would be delayed 1 hour. Kindly asked for compensated range balls for the interim, with no such accommodation given. Price advertised as Hot Deal rate and including cart proved to be regular non-resident weekend full price, + full cart price, and no cart was available. Requested refund for difference and was told carts can only be guaranteed when booked directly (yet the players behind us had one). Pace was painfully slow, course was in very poor condition, and all in all, would only go back here if it was the only tee time available within 30 miles.
Good layout
I am not going to pile-on w/ the poor course conditions, lets just say it is not country club conditions.
It is a fun course, w/ a great mix of long and short holes. Overall it is a tight course w/ water in play on half the holes. They did a good job getting 9 holes in a limited space. Easily walkable, friendly staff!
Needs A Lot of Work
Fremont golf course needs a lot of work. From the tee boxes to the greens on every hole. About 2/3 of all the grass is dead, sand in bunkers is hard, no water in water hazards. When walking the course, it is like hiking through a lumpy weed field.
