Fun day on manageable course with my girlfriend
Had great golf weather as it was under 60 degrees and clear as can be.
Course has a nice mix of longer par 3s and some par 4s as well as a few short par 3s
Issue I have is tons of geese poop. And not just a few wholes but like 8 of 9 holes you are walking through poop
Conditions were a little wet which could be why the 11am tee times are so cheap
Otherwise, great day of golf and will come back again if I can book those cheap tee times!
Horrible Conditions
Maintenance here is terrible. I've played this course a lot over the years (when I first started out) and was always amused by how the fairways had like 4 different types of grass on it, all in splotches mixed with each other. After having not gone here for a while, I went again for old times' sake and it's considerably worse. A few of the holes have more dirt than grass, even on the "fairways" (if we can call it that). For example, hole 3 used to be a grassy fairway as you would expect. Now over 50% of the ground cover is raw dirt -- not just dead grass, I mean straight, raw dirt. Another hole was like this too (I forget which one). One of the tee boxes on the 8th hole is now literally a mound of dirt and they had to move the tee box to another location. I don't know if it's the time of year or not, but the greens are only passable. Lots of dirt and sand all over meaning I pretty much had to disregard my putting scores. I liked the course layout here, and the difficulty for an executive course always kept things interesting. But now it is in absolutely horrible conditions and I would not recommend this to anyone. I don't know if it's a money or funding thing, but there needs to be severe improvements to the maintenance here.
Good for practice round
right of the bat , thing did not go well. I was told by the staff that They don't deal with Golfnow anymore.
I told him that he can check golfnow.com and their course is still listing tee time available and that's what i deed . so he just their computer and i guess he saw the confirmation of the reservation. and he check me in after 10minute wait.
The course is not in very good condition a lot of spot in the fairway that are really dry and hardly any grass, the putting greens are fairly decent . overall its playable for what you paying for.
Hit it Straight
The course isn't the prettiest looking but for the $5 GolfNow deal me and my friend played is was worth it. From talking to the front desk the sprinkler system has not been working until just recently so expect the course conditions to improve. This corse is a great way to work irons as the have many short holes that you must hit straight on or they are going out of bounds. Good curse for beginners just trying to get more consistent for cheap.
Save yourself the hassel
The course was in awful condition with almost zero green grass in the fairways and all of the greens were covered in dead spots and divots. Once I finished the 9 holes for $23 I was told that I must pay an addition $5 to play it again. Honestly, I wouldn't have played this course for $5 overall. There are so many other courses in the area that are 100x better for your money.
Drying out. Needs water.
For the price I paid. It was good. But dry and brown in a lot of spots and yet summer has not even begun
Challenging par 9.
Unlike most executive courses I play, this offered more challenges, with narrow fairways and ways to lose your ball, both left and right, on most holes. A great value too.
Course conditions have improved
The course conditions have substantially improved in comparison to a year ago.
Worst course I have ever played on
Worst course I have ever played on. Out of nine holes, 2 were a make shift because of some city related construction. Layout and course condition were so terrible, I might as well have played a round on a public park.
You get what you pay for
This course is in fair condition at best. Muddy in many areas. Area of course under construction. Low cost is only redeeming value.
Fremont Golf
Good time on the course. Just wish I knew that they aired the greens.
Construction
Hard to give the course a fair review with the construction. Greens are in good shape, fairways are not. The layout is tougher than you would expect, especially for someone who is not straight. Bring extra balls as there is lots of hazards, especially environmental areas.
Good Average Course
Good enough for a nine hole course
Bang for your buck!
If you want a quality quick fun 9 hole round of golf at a bargain price this is the spot to go. Challenging course that lots of fun and having the carts is the icing on the cake!
Course level
Definitely, this course is not for beginner. Its a challenging course for advanced player.
Great value
Challenging course. Great value for the money. Have played this course several times and have always enjoyed it.
Nice layout
Played from the blue tees. Like the layout but the course conditions are poor. Fairways and greens are substandard. The cost is in line with the experience though. They've renievated the bar area which came out nice...one good size tv playing sports. Good beers on tap but serve in plastic cups, downer. Glass pints would be nice.
A sad example of what could be a fun course.
I decided to play this course, because I wanted to treat my buddy to a few holes. Unfortunately this was the only one I could find close to his place in Fremont, and it looked like the only one in the city. The staff were unaccommodating in having a slight reschedule to let us warm at the range beforehand. This seemed strange, as I've never had this happen to me before, especially on a course that wasn't packed whatsoever.
The course doesn't look to have regular maintenance. The fairways are littered with bird droppings, and the second cut looks like it hasn't been touched for months(better keep it in the fairway!). The greens were dried out, and although more a reflection of the people that frequent this course, full of unrepaired ball marks.
It's hard to rate the difficulty of this course, had the grass been taken care of, this looks to be a nice fun flat course with just enough hazards to keep someone entertained. In the condition that it was in, with the long rough, and hardpacked fairway, this was more difficult than it should have been.
I was lucky that I decided to bring my rangefinder, because ALL the numbers, on the scorecard, on the teeboxes, were mislabeled. This also made it hard to decide which tees to play. Sometimes the white played like the blues, sometimes the tips played like the whites. While this normally shouldn't be too much of an issue, I saw way to many people playing from the tips, which I can only assume is due to the yo yo labeling of the yardages.
Maybe after the rain season, this course will play better, and I may revisit. If you can afford to drive a bit further out, there are better courses, at better values to be had.
