Deer Ridge Golf Club

The course is short but it's a great place for the price. The greens were nice a Dan dried out which I like, make sit more challenging to putt.

Fun layout through a few valleys with some elevation changes. A few dry spots but mostly nice and green. Greens were fairly fast and rolled smooth. Great course for the money. Will definitely be coming back. Definitely a quality course compared to some of the cheaper options on GolfNow that aren't worth your time.

This course requires precision golf shots. Although short in total yardage, it is not easy course at all.

We played on a week day, course was not crowded. But, we waited on most of the holes behind a threesome. Overall, we had fun playing this course, some fairways needed some care. Staff was very friendly. Course has no driving range.

The front went smoothly. But the back, no bueno. They must be letting people off the back. 4hrs 48min

Deer Ridge has always been known for its great upkeep in greens and fairways.
I have always enjoyed my rounds at Deer Drdge !

Great golf course to play!!! Love the layout of it!! Fast but hard to read greens and put on !!!!!

My first time here, usually play Shadow Lakes across the street, now unfortunately closed.
The two nines are distinctly different, and, while I enjoyed the front nine I was very impressed with the dramatic back nine, though it was less impressed with me, as I shot 7 strokes higher there.
Despite the greens having been recently aerated they played well if a bit slow. The fairways were a bit rough in spots, but our severe winter and incessant rains contributed to that and, overall, the course is in fine shape .
I would unhesitatingly recommend this course to both seniors , its length is quite manageable from the forward tees, and to better players as well, especially that dramatic back nine.

I absolutely love Deer Ridge golf course. I have had a ton of success here on and off the course. Can definitely get crowded on the Weekends but with Roddy Ranch and S. Lakes closing recently it's not shocking that Deer Ridge has taken on more golfers.

Great layout of the holes. Almost all holes are surrounded by houses but unlike Brentwood Golf Club, Deer Ridge doesn't feel like you're playing in someone's backyard every hole.

Course has a great variation of Elevation, sand traps, big greens, fast greens, target holes, risk/rewards holes which is why it will test almost every part of your game.

Staff is always incredibly friendly. They also have a grill where you can get a delicious Hamburger and/or an adult beverage :)

Mon-Fri you can find excellent and sometimes hard to believe great deals either on Golfnow or directly on Deer Ridge's website. Weekends after early morning play you can also find extremely reasonable tee times.

Staff was great, but course was very dry. It's time to turn the sprinklers back on!

Played Deer Ridge yesterday, and I play there every now and then, when prices are right. It presents a modest level of challenge for the better golfer and is usually in decent condition. Right now they are one month from aerating the greens, and they are still a bit on the bumpy side/slow side. But, this too shall pass. The course was generally in decent shape and a bit dry for a nice change, giving plenty of roll off the tee.

Although DR winds through a housing community, it often feels like a walk in the California hills, as the homes are usually well off the fairways. Tee boxes are almost all in very good condition and nicely level. Fairways are usually well cut and free of brown spots. (#10 is consistently the exception.) The short rough is well mowed, but there is plenty of long grass in the secondary rough to eat up a ball or three. The sand traps are still recovering from the rainy season; sand is thin but generally better than the hardpan found in most North Bay courses. Other than this post-aeration period, the greens tend to roll well. They are working to fight back some foreign grass invasion, which makes the greens look bad, but does not affect putting much.

The layout at Deer Ridge is on the short side and not overly challenging. However, holes 6, 9, 11, 14 & 17 do require some thought before pulling driver on the tee, and there are forced carries on 3 or 4 holes. I have walked the course many times without difficulty. Deer Ridge drys out fairly well after the winter rains.

The practice facilities do not include a range at DR, but if you don’t need a range, you will find options for putting, chipping, pitching, sand play and short wedges. The putting green is on the small side, but rarely crowded. One more plus is the sand and pitching green down the hill from the putting green. It is a decent place to practice your short game.

Service is on the no-frills side, so don’t expect much from the pro shop or the grill. But if all you need are the basics, they’ve got you covered. I’ll keep going back to Deer Ridge so long as the prices are right.

This was a fun course to play after all the rain. Most fairways were dry and rolled out like summer. Greens had been aerated a few weeks ago but sand was still heavy on a few greens. Nice layout lots of challenging shots.

I was surprised at how firm the entire course is, from the tee box through the greens.

Dry & bumpy fairways. Apparent irrigation problem. Would not play again until water problem fixed.

Granted it was a windy day, there was a 5 some in front of us and a slow 4 in front of them. Tee'd off at 11:15 finished 9 at 2:15. Needless to say I quit after 9. Just a bad day overall, probably not like this all the time I hope.

A great course to play in the early am hours. 6400 yards from the blue tees, with fairways that can be hit with relative ease. Some holes look easy, but, they have their challenges as well...don't be fooled by the hazards, e.g.; fairway bunkers and march land style edges to the fairways.
