Nestled at the base of Mount Diablo, Deer Ridge Golf Club wanders through rolling, oak-dappled hills. The course has several challenging holes but the hazards are balanced by more player-friendly elements like wide, forgiving fairways and generous greens. There is also plenty of room off the tees and at just over 6,300 yards it is a manageable length as well. Though it is gentle enough for beginners, the thoughtful routing and hilly terrain keep it interesting for low handicappers. Deer Ridge Golf Club's front nine is more open and slightly less difficult, but the back nine gets a little trickier with more trees and more dramatic elevation changes coming into play. The terrain gives each hole a unique character and different challenges. The wind can also be a major factor. Good course management will be well rewarded.

Needs some help.
Deer Ridge has definitely seen better days. Always a good layout, but the conditions on most holes were less than average. Greens have been invaded with some other type of grass and are below par. For the price we paid (daily deal - less than $40) it was a fair price. Pace was super slow for 10am on a Sunday. We waited on every tee and it took 5 hours in total. Hopefully they can make some improvements as I won’t plan on playing again in this condition. Positives: Staff was super nice.
Nice Course
Nice layout. Good condition. Greens are better than they look. Good value for the$$.
Nice course for price
Course in good condition. A couple of holes needed fairway TLC. Greens were good.
Enjoyable round
1st Time visit to this course and had a wonderful round of golf.
Poor course conditions.
Most muni courses are in better shape. The bunkers here have little sand and hard bottoms - sand wedge bounced off bottom of bunker. 10TH fairway full of stalks of weeds. Greens were slow and rough. I golfed Deer Ridge because I’m just getting back into golf after a year off due to shoulder surgery. This course served my purpose swinging a club again, but if I wanted to golf a decent course, I’d have to go elsewhere.
horrible greens
haven't play here for a year and couldn't believe how poorly maintain the course was. The greens were in worst shape I've seen around the bay area and was disappointed with overall condition. Years past I was generally pleased with the course but don't know what's been going on to let the greens to be in this condition.
Now is the time to grab those customers.
Spend the money to make the course great and they will come...Golfers! There is a lot going on in Brentwood with golf courese and it is your time to shine. I know it cost money and I can't speak to that but I think you should add some decent "white" sand. It would look better and actually play like the course should. The bunker were horrendous. How can you get an accurate handicap if you're hitting out of cement or rocks? You can be the talk of the town with Roddy & Shadow down...Brentwood has no sand...why not beat them to the punch and then advertise it?
Course is in good shape greens Well-maintained, had a great day. Peace
No Consequences for Slow Play
Just too slow — drove off after 16th. Needed marshall to move a very slow 4-some. No marshall on course.
Off the course
Father's day round. There was no cart girl allday. I knew that because I spoke with the front desk. The bathrooms were locked on the course so I had to call about that. 3 guys on shift for fathers day is crazy. Just the little things would help keep this course open.
Great Course
Deer Ridge is just one of my favorite courses to go golfing at the greens and the fairways are in great condition and is kept well maintained
A fun first time at Deer Ridge
Had a great time at Deer Ridge yesterday! The course was in really good shape, place of play was really good (done in 4 hours and 5 minutes), and was a great Golf Now value! The greens were a little firm, a few of the bunkers had some water puddles, and the bunkers in general were pretty hard, but none of this affected our round. Definitely looking forward to coming back and playing again!
