Owl's Creek
This course was in horrible shape. I would only recommend this course if you want to work on your irons (max 200 yards) and if you don't want to be able to putt. Also, I would never play this course for their normal greens fee of $20.
Only way I will play here again is if I get to play for FREE!
This course was just awful, I actually booked 18 but only played 9 because I could not stand the course. The greens grass length was like fringe, and the fairways were still brown. The tee boxes were awful, and some of the tee placements weren't even on flat ground. I live in the area and I will never play here again!
Owl's Creek 05152015
Driving range is covered but your hitting off of mats.
Greens were very poor and slow due to lack of cutting and some disease causing bare spots. Fairways are dry so they run like crazy.
This is an executive course so lots of par 3's to practice your short game.
Not recommended.
Dont play here
This course is horrible, the greens aren't even greens. So bad, so so bad. Also the course is made up of par 3's no where does it say that. Also constant takeoffs of fighter jets is cool but can get a tad annoying. Please don't play here until they redo the course and change things.
Challenging, fun course in terrible shape
Awesome Par 62, but not kept up. Greens were rough, sand full of grass, driving range in disrepair. Still a fun course I would play again for the $.
No groundskeeping
Overall staff was friendly and the course was ok for the price on golfnow but you can tell the owner puts zero effort into keeping the course in good shape. Has a lot of potential to be nice given the location but definitely needs some TLC
This course was once a jewel of a course
The greens were in pretty bad shape. Cart paths need paving repairs. And the tee markers look worn.
I played this course in the winter before and the current condition appears to border on neglect or lack of sufficient maintenance and care.
Good for a Short Afternoon
This a good little Executive course (par 62). There are some nice hills and hazards to keep you on your toes (bring lots of balls if you tend to find the hazard more often than not :P) The staff is great and friendly.
The only knocks I have on the course are the greens and the carts. The greens are pretty rough and carts are too. In talking to a staff member I guess they had something happen earlier in the year that "killed" the green and it doesn't look like they ever quite fully recovered.
Overall, if you are looking for a quick 18 holes, its enjoyable and service is good.
Poor greens
The greens were in terrible condition. Traps overgrown with grass. Needs serious maintenance
Very Poor Greens
This course has some difficult holes with a lot of water hazards, but the greens are unplayable. The greens are a combination of dirt and uneven crabgrass . It is impossible to keep a putt on line.
worst course ever played
greens were in horrible condition, couldn't even take relief because entire greens could have been deemed ground under repair, now I know why it was a "hot deal"
Course layout nice
Not being from this area, I selected this course thru Golf Now, there was no green that had full grass, crabgrass interference was previlant on most greens.
Aerating on the back 9, preventing us from there. We were not made aware prior to tee time. The cart we used had no brake.
The only thing that was acceptable was the price. The layout was acceptable.
Greens in extremely poor condition
All 18 greens were black dirt with weeds growing in them. See my attached photo for an example. Worst golf conditions I've played on. I played here a year ago and conditions were great. Very disappointing.
Stay Away
Checked in and was informed at the clubhouse that some of the greens were in tough condition. Quite the understatement, all greens had burnt spots on them and the ones with any grass was crab grass. Fairways were in good condition.
Worse course I have ever played at!
I would advise people not to play at this course. I was ready to go back after the second hole and ask for my money back. The only reason why I didn't was because it would be too hard to get another tee time somewhere else that morning. They do not take care of the course or their equipment. The greens had very little grass. Putt shots we hard to judge due to patches of grass on the greens. Most greens had no grass at all. The carts were extremely old and not taken care of (falling apart). The towels for the ball cleaners look like they have been there for years, as they are tied by wire with no way of coming off, as well as the wire being rusted. The cart path is in desperate need of repairs. I was looking forward to a great day of golf but ended up being disappointed and frustrated with the course the entire time due to the issues above.
DON'T GOLF HERE!!!!
This was hands down the worst course I've played on! it costs twice as much as other local courses ($32, most are $18) not a single putting green was green. very. I mean very, very bad. most of the greens were dirt to make it worse their were patches of green. imagine trying to putt in a gravel driveway. made it impossible to keep an accurate score. you'll only need your driver for maybe 3 holes. I was basically just using my pitching wedge and putter all day. (even from the tee box) trust me. don't waste your money on this course you'll be very disappointed.
SAVE YOUR MONEY!
Owls creek was terrible. The greens were dirt...I would not play there again if it were free. SAVE your money...play elsewhere.
Putting greens are the worst I've ever played on
This course should seriously think about shutting down for awhile and getting the greens in shape. You can't even putt it was a waste of time. Out of 18 holes maybe 2 or 3 of the greens were actually green with grass the rest were dirt and patches of weeds smh. Even for a hot deal for $10 it's still not worth it.
Disappointed
We have played this course many times so we know the course well. Very disappointed in the condition of the course. They had a disease that killed all the grass on the greens. We only putted on two holes. Someone should have told us the course was in such poor shape. We would have played somewhere else. My husband and I took our grandson and it was very disappointed for him also. He was really looking forward to playing. Not a good experience.
No grass on greens.
Greens were in horrible condition. Literally was no grass. Was like putting on sundried, cracked cement that had some weeds growing here and there. Fairways and tee tee boxes were fine.
