Fairways of Woodside Golf Course
About
Fairways of Woodside Golf Club is located just outside of Sussex, sprawling across the beautiful countryside of southeastern Wisconsin. The course is seemingly flat but there are a few subtle but challenging contours, overall a walkable course though. Water comes into play on 11 holes and nearly all of the greens have a bunker lurking nearby. One of the most memorable water holes is the par-3 12th where golfers will have to carry a large lake that juts in front of the green. The monstrous 15th hole is another tough one. This par 5 is a double dogleg where even the best golfers have a hard time making it to the green in two. It is a challenging golf course but most of the hole are straightforward and not overly punishing if you're errant.

Very Nice Course
I always enjoy playing Fairways of Woodside.
Great Hot Deal Value
The course was in excellent condition for mid-October with no signs of aeration. The staff was grateful for our business and quite accommodating. The course has a nice mixture of short and long holes with well placed traps and hazards. Overall a very positive experience and certainly worth considering if you can get a Hot Deal rate..
This course has a great design
Great condition...Tough back nine. I always enjoy playing this course.
Just what I was looking for
Fairways of Woodside has everything you might need. Being a Senior I was happy to see the course was attractive in length for my game. Excellent conditions and a very fair price. Outstanding day.
Great Place!
Staff is super nice.
This course is always a pleasure to play!!
Very good golf course to go
The grass is very good. The best thing is they have electricity golf cart!!!!! Very good environment!
Fun course close to Milwaukee
Fairways of Woodside is a fun track that presents a good combination of very scoreable holes with challenging, demanding holes. I was impressed with the course conditions and the quality of the greens in particular. Contrasting 9's kept it interesting with some very easy holes to begin the round and some very difficult par 4's on the back 9. The back 9 is easily the more interesting of the two sides and plays a couple strokes tougher. A good course for golfers of varying handicaps and worth the play if your in the area.
Ok course played better for less money.
Course ok but was maintained better a couple years ago. Overall course is short and not my taste.
GOLFING WTH MY SON
Beautiful day, beautiful course, beautiful condition.
Good golf course, great price
quite surprised by the good condition, definitely would be a course to play a couple times with some of the shots. Very satisfied
Rocky Road Ahead
This was a last min. deal. I needed to play in the area & the price was right. This course has been around for 10 yrs. & still had the issues of a brand new course. The tee boxes we're in rough shape & I honestly could not get a level stance on all but a few. The bunkers had rocks in them right on top of the sand. It was kinda weird because they were raked nicely but had golf-ball sized rocks in them & bigger. How hard would it be to get a local golf team in there & clean them out. Maybe throw them a free round of 2 for the labor. I have never seen anything like it. I went into the pro shop & a young man had no answers except to say it's something they're working on. During our round we observed bigger vehicles moving dirt and other material around so they have the resources. The greens were very grainy & really banged up. It seems that most players on the course don't have the respect or etiquette to repair their own ball marks. I fixed mine & at least 2 others on every green. The fairways were in very good shape and cut short. The staff was friendly. I was pretty disappointed but had low expectations going in. Those expectations were not met. I cannot recommend this course & I would be interested to see what, if anything will be done to improve the course condition.
Great course but challenging
Played multiple times and the course is well maintained each time. Very challenging from the front and even more challenging from the back. You will be tested, but it's a great course to play.
Underrated
Par 70 course. The back tees are not long at all...however...the course is still a very good test. If you don't hit the ball in the right positions off the tee, your round will be tough. Greens are fairly quick. Good value for the money.
Fairways of Woodside
Excellent course with a challenging layout. Great fairways. Some of the greens seemed to be abused. I can not believe golfers still do not know how to repair ball marks, if every one would do it the green could heal.
Great for in betweeners
Our foursome included a 2 guys who could play and 2 guys who are becoming more involved with the game. Course set up nicely to accommodate each of our games.
good course...same problems
I like this course, but no matter what time of year I play it, the greens are in bad shape...ball marks, dead spots, ant hills. Some of the tee boxes need to be leveled out as well. I played in a league here a few years ago and nothing has changed.
Beautiful course!
Always happy golfing here! First place I'd golf in the area!
Slow bumpy green
Greens & bankers condition was not ready yet in this early spring and cart pass only even at nice sunny day but acceptable with reasonable green fee.
Great course
Wide open course but it also has very challenging holes, especially on the back nine. There is a great mix of holes that have wide/narrow fairways, bunkers and wetlands/water, etc. I played the last week of October lol but we had great weather. The pin placement was tough and the greens were fast which made for some challenging putts. I shot a 93 the first time I played this course back in September and improved to an 83 this time! Knowing the course definitely helped my shot selection. The back 9 is a lot harder to play with a tough 4 hole stretch. This course will definitely be in my rotation next season!
Hey "Spowellnis" thank you for the 5* review! We are happy to hear that you like playing out here and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
