Great course in Western Chicago Suburbs
Very interesting links-style layout. Variety of tees makes it more enjoyable since there are combo tees (gold on some holes, and silver on others with the rating and slope calculated for each). GPS in carts show distance to bunkers and hazards - very helpful for a first-timer playing this course.
Nice links course
Very playable links course, in very good condition. Greens are large and fast, sand traps are deep but not too difficult. Very nice course.
ONE OF THE BEST
ONE OF THE BEST COURSES I HAVE SEEN IN ILL GOOD WORK GUYS KEEP IT UP AND THANK YOU AND THE WORKERS
Decent value for great course
Challenging course from the gold tees. Some play gold/silver combo which also works. Almost all the par 3s are tough. Bring your A game.
Great course and staff
This is one of my favorite courses, we have a regular group that plays there a couple times a year. It's always in great condition, and all the employees are very helpful, I tell everyone to go play the course you will Love it!!
Great experience
I play here a few times per year and always enjoy this layout. From the gold tees, it offers plenty of challenging holes. Play to specific positions off the tees and you'll be rewarded. If you just smash it anywhere, you'll have a long day. The conditions are generally excellent and the staff is friendly and helpful.
This day, the pace of play was quick. As a twosome, we played in 3 1/2 hours. We'll be back soon!
First Timer That Will Definitely Be Back
I had an excellent experience that made me a fan of the course and staff. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and answered all my questions. Thumbs up to the gentleman in the pro shop and the starter Jerry (who went out of his way to tell me some tips about the course). The course definitely provides a challenge for every level of golfer. Aside from typical ball marks on the green, the course was in excellent shape. To score well here one needs to know where to place their tee and approach shots because you can easily get yourself into trouble. The greens are especially challenging. There are many undalations and shelves. They have an excellent practice facility as well! The driving range is one of the best I've come across and the short game area rocks too! Nicely done!
Pace of Play
Staff needs to keep foursomes moving along, but they are too courteous to do so. Course has a wonderful layout and nice vistas. Greens were large and smooth. Average speed. Fairways were a little burnt out but very playable. It has tees for every level of player. Just don't know why it takes 4 1/2 hours or more for some groups to play it. Waited on every hole. You'll enjoy it, but expect a long day. Thank goodness for the cart ladies who came around every few holes.
This course has a good layout
We played course on Sunday. Good mixture of demanding holes and soft holes.
Golf Clap
What's not to like? The course has a really nice layout, it's really well kept. The greens roll really well unless the patrons fail to fix their ball marks. This place offers everything you would want when you go to a place like this. I even applaud the staff who have been hospitable and friendly the two times I've been there. It bothers me when I show up to a place with a hot deal rate and get treated poorly. Not here, not at all. From the clubhouse to the starter and even the rangers, they all make you feel welcome. The replay rate is really great too. This place is one of my new favorite place in the Chicagoland area. And the Grumpy Goat does nothing but compliment the experience.
A slow day
Pace of play poor due to walkers
Won't play if walkers in front of me.
Waited most every shot and the walkers were not at all concerned about 4 players waiting behind them for 4+ hours.
Course can easily be played in 4 or less hours. Ranger should be dealing with this issue.
The Highlands of Elgin
What a surprise! One of the most visually intimidating courses in the state. Bring your A game.
Great course!
Was amazed at how nice this is and the in cart GPS was awesome!
Great Golf Course
As a beginner golfer, it is not easy.
However, great view and field condition was great.
I would like to go playing again.
One of the best courses in the area
Course is in great shape, staff was awesome and helpful. Very challenging course; water, lots of hills, and fast greens. The GPS on the carts is by far one of the best available. They also have a nice practice facility.
Highlands of Elgin
Great track but difficult for the occasional player. Greens were excellent fast and true but get ready to lose some balls if you don't hit the fairway.
Loved everything about it but they had people walking in front of us that extended round to four hours and 35 minutes.
Nice course
Great place to play. Challenging for all levels of players.
great course....
OMG we love the course and although it is pricey we love the fact that we can play there thanks to your hot deals,,,,THANK YOU!!
One of the best courses in the area
Reconfigured front nine has transformed this course into an excellent course for amateurs. Moderately difficult, this course challenges the golfer at every shot. Great value for the money. Practice facility is adequate. A larger chipping area would have been better. Friendly staff adds to the experience. I will recommend this course any time.
