Eaglewood Resort & Spa
About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

Only took me 30 years! Photo submitted by rjhmu on 11/04/2012
Everyone was on every hole at the same time
We would sometimes wait to tee off because people from other holes would have hit into our fairway and they would drive straight to their ball and not wait for us in the middle of our tee shots. Once, there were 3 different 4somes playing from our fairway. However, pace was ok. Some of the tees probably need to be moved as the tee boxes were getting a little chewed up.
Awful Players
Fun layout, despite being very short. Has a foursome of older gentlemen in front of me who played at a snails pace. Nearly 4 hour round when the round should have taken 3. Group in front drove carts onto teeboxes and even greens. I’ve never in my life seen it. Informed staff and they didn’t seem to care. Such a shame that a fun little course like this is ruined by the players on it.
Great value at a central location
I have played this course several time due to the central location (it is about 30-40min drive for everyone i usually golf with).
The course is well kept, challenging but playable, well priced, and is well run.
Lots of par 4 with interesting greens.
Hello. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Eaglewood Resort & Spa.
Fun course
Eaglewood is in great condition and is always fun to play. The mature trees and a little water make for a challenging but enjoyable roun
JUST GO PLAY THERE!
Great course to use position strategy as the greens are all about this course. Stay short as many greens slope to the front. Best to play this course several times to know where to position your shots.
Good greens and fairways. Traps are a little gravely but with uncut grass on the tops - like Crenshaw designs.
Get a good deal from Golf Now and enjoy this wonderful old treasure.
Slow greens
Great course layout greens are a lil slow just a heads up. Chip and putt near the pin always high or low
Sand trap
Sand trap where bad because of the rain 🌧️ take care of the traps and you would have a better course
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for the negative experience you had with slow play and the behavior of other players during your round. We appreciate your feedback and will address this issue with our staff to ensure a better experience for our future guests.
