Reviews
Seniors Played
Slow to start (45min) due to a tardy tourney finish - rather difficult for older players even with a cart; several tees required shooting over thick brush/weeds for distances tough to do!
the course is in great condition but slow play
love Camas meadows but play was really slow
would recommend to friends and would love to see more ladies days offerings
Disappointed
Have played this course 10+ times a year since if first opened. Moved away last year so it was on the list of must plays when I was in town - even coordinated a weekly league here for 5+ years. Boy was I amazed and disappointed at how run down it has become. Ground under repair in most bunkers- full of weeds... Bunkers not under repair full of rocks and cement like sand. Fairway dead all over- definitely no longer a quality, well maintained course. Very, very sad!
Beautiful Setting and Course
Forced carries and tight greens, or length and spacious fairways, course has it all. Setting is woodsy yet winds through expensive homes. I would have liked better markings to 18 hole, neighbor hood holes are a little hard to find also, but now that I've played, easy to get around. Nice paved paths everywhere. Carts have GPS built-in and you can order food from the course, nice touches. I'm a beginner so lost SEVERAL balls, so if you still "mishit" once in a while better bring an extra sleeve with you. Fun day.
Fun outing
One of the nicer courses in the area. I enjoyed most holes, although I liked the front 9 more than the back. The back nine is more challenging with errant shots being completely lost in some areas. The bunkers were in horrible shape, as they were rock hard. I prefer sandy bunkers but I guess that cant always be the case at that course most likely due to the weather conditions. Overall I liked the course and would play again.
Beautiful Views
Beautiful course at an amazing afternoon price. Greens in great shape. But it should be noted that the layout of the course is unusual. Definitely not a course for beginners and a little familiarity will go a long way to helping you enjoy your round.
Excellent Course, Worth the Visit
I had the chance to play Camas Meadows on a golf trip. Great conditions from tee to green with quality facilities along the way. Typical to the area mature (massive) trees line the fairways and guard the green from most approach shots out of the rough. Definitely worth the visit, I recommend this course.
Great Public Course
I had played Camas Meadows a few years ago when I was visiting my parents in the pacific northwest, but I had honestly forgotten how pretty the course is. They have a great practice facility and the staff is really friendly. They have made some changes with the patio and bar since the last time I was in town and the this place is a destination to come and enjoy dinner and drinks with friends. If I am in the area, this is my course of choice!
Tough course from the Tips!!
I have always enjoyed playing Camas Meadows. I would say it is one of my favorite courses in the PNW. It is a tough, but fair course. You earn your score so to say.
On Sunday we decided to play from the tips. Wow, there are several forced carries that reach or exceed 200 yards!! Oh My.... I had a blast and the challenge was amazing!
Great Tract
Course well taken care of and well managed. Fast greens, great day.
Good weather
I like this course, able to score ok if you have good contact and keep it on or near the fairway. The issue I have had with this course if the food and beverage service. First time I played and ate there, the meal I was served was not great. This time we were told the beverage cart would be on the course after 11 am and it never showed. It was a 90 degree day and it would have been nice to have it or at least the club house say it would not be there and would have bought beverages before starting.
SWW favorits
This is definitely one of my favorite SWW courses, although I think it is a bit expensive. The lack of a beverage cart was disappointing, but we made due at the turn. Not a course to walk that is for sure, we knew this from previous play. Just too far between t boxes to walk and play at a good pace.
Great course
Great course, well kept, everything went very well.
Half of the course was closed
Unseen on the booking, the back 9 was closed for aeration. Had I known that I would have chosen somewhere else to play. Thus we played the front 9 twice. Very slow play as they had to sequence in starting players with those turning off of number 9.
Fun Course, lots of forced carries and not friendly to walk..
The title sums it up... Course is fun with good greens, with some variety, but it is pretty tight and if you can't fly the ball in the air at least 130-150 yards in spots, prepare to bring a lot of golf balls... it's not designed to walk, as there are long distances in between greens and tees, so be prepared to take a cart, unless you want 100-150 yard walks between homes to the next tee.. good test of golf..
Long Day, no marshallers
Started on the back 9 (They said expect this routing every Tuesday).
5 hours and 10 minute round. On a Tuesday morning where carts are the norm? Waited on every shot on the back nine until number 17. Four holes open in front of us. Frustrating. Asked the pro shop about it afterwords and they said of the marshaller: "one of their guys had to go home"
Head pro? Dir of Golf? absent
Course was in good shape and it was a great day to play weather wise.
This is a great course, well thought out hole placement
Great course for all ages, plenty of sand. They just need to make certain all traps have enough of that soft sand. Fun golf!
nice course
Great amenities with gps in carts and nice putting green. Driving range is across the street witch is a little bit of a hassle. But grass tees are very well kept. This course is a little long between holes. A cart is recommended from me. Beautiful course though well worth the trip to Camas.
Spectacular sunny views late in the day
Beautiful day on a scenic layout. Pin placements were a bit tough for a Sunday crowd. Food is excellent. Too bad it's so difficult to walk with long treks between greens and tees.
