Great place to play
The course is well maintained. The layout is challenging while still more wide open than other courses. The traps were racked that morning.
A local favorite
If you've played golf with a few random strangers in the Portland area and you start talking about favorite courses to play in the area, chances are they'll say Stonecreek. For good reason.
The front line plays very links style, the back nine plays very typical of PNW golf with tree-lined fairways and elevation changes. The greens are usually immaculate, some of the best in the area for public courses if not the best. Best way to describe the greens, ICY.
One of the only playable golf courses in Portland during the wet/cold months, drainage is excellent.
I keep coming back and each time I enjoy the course more and more.s
Course was in great shape
Course was in great shape, very fast fairways and greens. They had a tournament tee off on the back 9 when we started and we caught up to a couple of groups. On holes 3-9 none of the tee box markers were set up so we were forced to just wing it but other than that it was a good experience.
great shape
It is a pleasure to play on a public course where the greenskeeper take a great deal of pride in maintaining the course. It was in excellent shape!
Great Day
The course is ~ 45 minute drive from center of Portland, but worth the trip. Friendly, helpful staff. Set me up to join another single and a father/son pair. All really nice guys. Fairways and greens were in very good condition. Sand traps needed work, not up to "par". Very interesting layout, lot of variety of holes. Good driving range, practice chipping area and putting green.
Nice track!
Played Stone Creek for the first time based on the reviews that were posted online. My first time playing in Oregon in over 30 years and I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem of a cours. I will definitely play the course again the next time I am in the PNW. It was a great way to spend my Birthday. Mahalo!
I have played this course many times over the years. It has never been in better shape!
SLOW!
Played StoneCreek today to give it another chance. Slow play has been a problem & today was no different. 5 hours to play, with no help from the marshall to speed things up. One group was at least 2 holes behind (could not see any further), holding up the whole course, but he made no effort to move them along. Good course, in great condition, but until they actively manage pace of play, not sure it’s worth the frustration/pain of waiting on every shot.
Pace of play sucks
Course is in great shape but Marshalls were unwilling to move people when they were slowing down the pace of play. 2 open holes and at least 5 4somes waiting on tee boxes. Not an enjoyable 5+ hour round. Price was great and greens putted fine. Pace of play explanation should be given at time of greens fees!
Excellent shape!
I have played Stonecreek several times over the years. The course has never been in better shape from tee to green.
golf outing
Stonecreek is always a fun and challenging course for me. The greens are in good shape and reasonably fast.
The fairways are were sandy from recent maintenance but not a problem and there are enough bunkers and water to make shotmaking challenging.
Stone Creek Course is Greate
