Canewood
The greens were ok not very puttable. grass was not cut and fairways were still dead. grounds crew changed about a month ago and they are horrible!!
Canewood
Course condition was not great, but it was a good value as a hot deal. Fairways on the back nine were in poor condition.
Rough greens
Looks like Canewood is bad shape, greens punch way to late last year, still full of holes, never healed, or maintained correctly.
This course needs some TLC.
My 3 buddies and I recently played Canewood and we were all very glad we had to only pay the Golfnow discounted price of $17. The course definitely needs a dose of TLC to bring it up to par. It seems the neighborhood HOA is going to be taking over running the GC in the near future....Good Luck with that! It is that very same neighborhood that has over-run its borders and encroached upon the playability of the course itself. Homes jut out of nowhere and become a hindrance to an already very tight fairway lay-out. The tee boxes are sad and dysfunctional. You minus well just tee off from the fairway...same thing. The lone bright spot was the man running the weekend shift at a lonely clubhouse. He was very friendly....probably because he hasn't talked to any golfers all day. I remember when this course first opened up in the area...it was a good course with just a few homes sprinkled here and there. Now there are houses on top of houses, houses on top of fairways and a strange golf path that winds through people's driveways, backyards and led us down streets with no clue to where we were supposed to go. It was a rough old day.
Nice little course, but needs work
Let me begin by noting I like this course. It is close to home, convenient and usually not too crowded. However, they had just areated the greens and poured so much sand on them that they were barely playable. Fairways were dry and hard, but with rain coming in they should be better soon. Front 9 is nothing special, but the back 9 is more challenging and attractive. Was able to get in 18 with my son in 3 1/2 hours. Looking forward to playing this course again when it's in better shape.
has potential but not maintained.
Sparce grass on tee boxes & fairways. Neither had been cut in a while. Greens had been aerated but did not know that until we got there. A little pricey for the condition. Will not go back unless price is is much cheaper.
needs alot of work
the front 9 is in bad shape, the back is much better, but for the $ 15.00 we spent per person will go else where
this course is super to play all 2 will play this course again soon
this was a very nice course will play again soon and take some friends to play this course . needs some marking on streets for first time players just a painted arrow will do fine in my opinion .
Weekend get-away
Great example of golf, although not super long, the holes had enough dog-leg right/left to keep your attention. I really liked the 150 poles as they were black/white poles in every fairway so no guess work from the tee box as to which club should be used.....
A nice close to home course
Lot's of roll with the lack of rain. Greens are receptive and maintained. Number 7 is now a long par 3 (vs a par 5) due to road by-pass construction.
Very picturesque on the back nine.
The course was in good shape. The greens especially on the front side appeared to be fighting a fungus. No wonder with as much rain as we have had in this area. Only gripe, I got lost twice navigating from green to tee on numbers 7 and 12. need more signs where you actually turn, Subdivision has grown tremendously in last 12 years.0
Good value
We have played this course many times, mainly because of the value, but this last time we felt it wasn't in as good condition as in the past. The fairways, greens and tee boxes have always been in good condition, but the greens and tee boxes need attention. The sand bunkers are in poor condition. Some need additional sand, and they never seem to be raked. Overall, it's a decent course for the money.
Nice views of creek
Greens in great shape. T boxes could use work. Fairways need to be cut but were in good shape. Rough was a challenge!
Course needs work
Course had terrible fairways and roughs. Did not have directions or pictures on how to get to the holes. Drive around a subdivision looking for #12.
Needs attention but fun to play
The course needs attention and it looked as if the cups haven't been moved in weeks. I like the course due to its challenging back 9 that gets much tighter than the front. You could get around the course from the tips and only pull out the driver once.
excellent course for the money!
This course was well maintained and the pace of play was excellent. Great value!!
still a very challenging course
The course still demands an accurate drive and approach shot but the greens are very slow and need a lot of work. It was a pleasure playing there again.
Excellent value for the money!
The greens and fairways are in great shape. Well maintained!
Hot Deal price was worth it.
I've played Canewood several times over the past few years. Sad to say, the course conditions have somewhat deteriorated. Most fairways are decent, but there were also plenty of bare spots to contend with. The greens seem to need the most attention. There is no consistency in the grass, almost as if several types of grass have all integrated into one bumpy, grainy putting surface. The layout of the course makes it very challenging for first-time players yet very attackable for those that know the course. Quite a few holes have blind landing areas from the tee. The biggest annoyance was a lack of any yardage makers along the course. A simple blue/white/red stake in the fairway would make planning your shots so much easier. In summary, I'll definitely continue to play Canewood, but it wil have to be at the right price.
Ok course, lots of OB.
Played this course for $10 with cart off from golfnow. Can't beat that price. Average course
