A nice change from your normal Desert Course.
Lots of different holes. Fun to play, if you hit the ball straight.
Too many players on the course. 5 hours + round. Restaurant/snack shack and refreshment cart closed at 2pm.
Beautiful, fun, and challenging.
Beautiful, fun, yet challenging. The back nine in the quarry is spectacular. The day we were there they way over booked the course. It took 5:30 hours to get through 18. 12:07 and 12:15 tee times were the last groups the get in before dark.
Teed off before 10am. 5 hour round. Marshall (not sure if a marshall or just staff) came around a few times but I don’t think he addressed the slow play. Saw a few groups quit. For this time of year, the course was in decent conditions. Mud balls, bumpy slow greens and 4” rough in some places but that is to be expected after overseeding. I like the course design and can see the conditions would be prime during their high season. Next time I play here I will make sure to get a super early tee time so I don’t have to wait.
Course is in great shape. Rough is high and punishing. Pace of play was super slow. Marshall needs to push slower players or push for faster players to play thru.
This is one of my favorite courses here in the Tucson area.
Very interesting fun course. Rangers could do a better job of encouraging slow players to let others play througj
One of our favourites
Course was a bit wet due to all the rain . Greens and fairways were in very good shape. Love this course because of the elevation changes and doglegs. Always challenging, bring some extra balls.
The course was very challenging, but not overwhelming! We really enjoyed our round. Lost balls and found balls. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We will definitely play here again!
Love this course with the elevations and terrain. Best scoring day in a long time.
Today was cart path only and my Fitbit loved it—now I’m ready for a nap! Be sure to take mosquito spray!
This is a great course, not long but lots of trouble.
It is a tough course to play when the conditions are cart path only because of re-seeding.
I will play it again in a few weeks.
Greens were very slow again because of re-seeding.
Quarry Pines back 9 is stunning
Challenging and stunning back 9 course. This course is tight, most holes require a good drive off the tee. Pace of play is a little slow due to cart path only policy and the challenging course set up. Greens were slow and driving range is average. Having GPS is very helpful, note, carts are not equip with one. Front nine is a bunch of short holes with housing along the right side of most. Staff is friendly and welcoming. I would recommend playing this course.
Quarry Pines great value
It is a great course and always in very cool condition which is why I keep going back. Water stations will be out of water shortly after noon, rarely a beverage cart and the restaurant will be closed if you finish much after 1 but if you are there to golf then you will enjoy it.
Stay away for a while
The course is getting ready for overseeing but no mention of this when booking. Fairways and greens rock hard. Half the pins on the back nine didn’t even fit in the cups. No excuse for this.
A fun layout, not very long but fun. Just had a big rainstorm so it was a bit wet but they did a good job getting it ready. I played here once before and it was terribly slow but not today, finished in under 4 hours. A fun target course down in the quarry.
The course was in excellent shape despite some new construction in the area and on or adjacent to the course. While the overall experience was enjoyable, it was diminished by the annoying presence of mosquitoes on the front nine in particular.
