The Cascade at Gold Mountain Golf Course
About
There are two championship courses available at Gold Mountain Golf Club, the Cascade and the Olympic. Taking advantage of the dramatic Pacific Northwest surroundings, the courses offer stunning views from nearly every hole. If the dramatic elevation changes of the Olympic Course are overly intimidating, the more walkable Cascade Course will be ideal. It may be less challenging but that doesn't mean it's easy. The openness of the golf course is misleading, if you want to score low you will actually need strategic, well placed shots on each hole. There are some tricky holes but overall it's a course that will appeal to players of all skill levels. Ample driving areas frame the tree-lined fairways and the player-friendly greens are open and inviting. Gold Mountain's Cascade Course is often the top choice for tournament play.

Great Course for the money
Not too long, not too short, just right. We laid out. Challenging but not frustrating. All players from beginner to expert will enjoy
nice range &putting chipping &sand trap but sand is like old beach sand
the course is in good shape as always sand in traps not so much but love the course. This course plays great even in winter our go to course in the off season
Cascade at Gold Mountain or is this Heaven?
Well talk about a STUNNING day to play golf!!! And then there's Gold Mountain Golf Courses (Cascade & Olympic) Both are nothing short of playing in Heaven. Truly I tell you, it is THAT beautiful there.
Now as for the round of golf:
The fringe on the greens needed to be trimmed a bit, they were sligtly long.
The greens were slightly bumpy, but with little to no ball marks... GOOD JOB FELLOW GOLFERS!!! They needed a slight manicure, but otherwise fairly consistent.
If you slice or hook too much, you'll pay the piper on some of the holes, but for the most part, you can always get to your ball to make a shot. Even with all the stunning trees.
The water hazards were less than intimidating. I wish they were more so.
This was my 44th round of golf in total and it was my 9th game after a leave of 32 years. I shot an 89 for this round with 3 birdies made, 3 more missed, and no pars made. Lot;s of +1's darn it anyhow. :---))
We'll see what happens next game!
Remember dear fellow golfers, fix your divets and ball marks always. Thanks :--))
Cheers! See you's after next round!
The best in the area.
Great play for a Fathers Day
Excellent maintained course
This is a very well maintained golf complex. Practice facilities are top of the line. Snack bar right next to the driving range. Greens were is prime condition. Returning in 4 days to score better now that I have seen the course.
Playet
Beautiful setting. Great condition. Good value for the money, especially with Golf Now discount. Will definitely be back to play again.
Beautiful day
This is a solid golf course with a challenge for any level of player.
Beautiful tree-lined course
Put off coming to Gold Mountain for the better part of 15 years from the Seattle area and am sorry I did. Had a great time playing this 'playable' (but, you better keep it in or near the fairway edge) course and was not disappointed in the least.
Playable course/Pleasant Staff
Clubhouse and Starter Staff were wonderful. Course is very playable with little chance of losing balls for an average player. Enough challenge to be fun.
Wet but playable
With all the rain during this winter the course really holds up and is in great shape including the greens. Course is always fair and playable. Got around in 3 hrs. Always a joy to play.
very good public course
Course is in very good shape considering the large amount of rain lately. Very happy with greens and fairway conditions. Very nice course to play any time of the year.
Great value
Even under the current wet soggy conditions course was in great shape and greens were excellent no standing water anywhere.
Awesome course!
The fairways neatly done, but the greens were immaculate! For a newcomer to this area of Wa. this will be my regular course to go to. Just enjoyed myself immensely and the beauty of these courses is just awesome! Its way worth your time, if you haven't golfed here before.
Rain Rain let me play golf
Was itching to play after all the rain we've been getting so I took the opportunity to play my local course just to swing my sticks and enjoy the dry day. Cascade is often overlooked because of Olympic getting all the notoriety, but it is a fun and still challenging track. I actually have a harder time scoring on this track vs Olympic. Easy to walk. Fairways drain well. Greens are some of the best on the Peninsula on a consistent basis. And the practice facility is terrific. Never get tired of this track.
Playing with punched and sanded greens
The course was in good shape considering the long dry summer we had. Ball rolled well after long carries. course was set up too easy though, with tees moved up on almost all tee boxes which made course quite a bit shorter. Yardage should not change despite moving tees. IE Forward tee = back pin. Middle tee= middle pin and back tee= front pin. course had just punched and sanded greens 3 days prior to us playing but cost was full price! That was not understandable to me. full price to play sand was tough to take. should give a price cut until sand on greens is gone or at least 10-14 days in my opinion. Staff is always nice! Great people that I have known for many years, Always a pleasant experience.
Great value great greens
This course is one of best values in the NW! A fair test of golf with fantastic mature true greens. One of the best values for your money and a nice restaurant with a very friendly staff.Kudos to Darryl and his crew!
Pace-o-play
Excellent course, nice wide playable fairways, greens rolled true!
But the round was somewhat spoiled by the pace of play. Both of the foursomes in front of us were PAINFULLY slow. Even more frustrating was it appeared the group directly in front of us did not know how use use a power cart in conjunction with their round. Lots of driving up and down fairways, carts left 100 yards away while players walked up to the green, etc.......Even the starter made comments about their slow play while they were on the 1st fairway! The twosome we were paired with bailed out after only TWO holes, jumping forward to find a more playable pace. While I do understand that players have different skill levels and perhaps are not as aware as to how to most efficiently use the power cart, what I DON'T understand is how a facility as nice as this had no marshal in the area at ANYTIME to assist players and make everybody's round more anjoyable.
One of the Best Public Courses Around
This is always one of my favorite courses to play along with the Olympic course. They always seem to have this course in good shape throughout the year and even with the unusually hot summer and dry weather they keep the greens in great shape. Challenging but playable for all levels of golfer.
Great course, as always
Tee'd off at 2:44. Course was busy due to a tournament held earlier in the day, so the starter held us up to allow things to open up a bit, so we only had to wait a minute or so on each hole. Ended up being a 5-hour round, which wasn't bad for how busy it was. Course itself is in great shape, with only a few brown spots or areas under repair. Greens are exceptional. Fast, but consistent and true. Practice facilities are excellent here, with several putting greens, driving range, and long chipping/pitching area.
Pro Shop Failure (Too Crowded)
We had a 11:08 tee time and it was running 40 minutes late. The tee times were too close together (7-8 minutes) and the pro shop inserted 3 -4 additional groups which caused a massive backup. This also caused very slow play on the course the whole day. The course was OK, but the tee time delay caused a very unsatisfactory experience. This was a big time pro shop failure that will make me play Trophy Lakes only in the future.
