The Cascade at Gold Mountain Golf Course
About
There are two championship courses available at Gold Mountain Golf Club, the Cascade and the Olympic. Taking advantage of the dramatic Pacific Northwest surroundings, the courses offer stunning views from nearly every hole. If the dramatic elevation changes of the Olympic Course are overly intimidating, the more walkable Cascade Course will be ideal. It may be less challenging but that doesn't mean it's easy. The openness of the golf course is misleading, if you want to score low you will actually need strategic, well placed shots on each hole. There are some tricky holes but overall it's a course that will appeal to players of all skill levels. Ample driving areas frame the tree-lined fairways and the player-friendly greens are open and inviting. Gold Mountain's Cascade Course is often the top choice for tournament play.

Cascade Hole #4 Photo submitted by sleddy22 on 09/18/2013
Very enjoyable day
Course was in good shape considering the dry conditions this year and especially considering other courses. Facilities and people are top notch. Played on an incredible Golfnow deal however regular rates look a bit spendy. Wouldn't hesitate to play again.
Always good
Even after hot and drought like conditions the course is in great shape.
Great course to play
This facility has two courses, the Cascade and the Olympic, the Olympic being nationally rated. Cascade is very close to being as good, not quite as hard. Will always look forward to playing here. One of the twosome we played with was extremely talkative which was very annoying and their pace was slow, so we were trying to make up for it most of the 18 holes.
Cascade Course
Course was in excellent condition. Huge greens that rolled consistent throughout. Pace of play was perfect. It was a packed day based off of the parking lot but we never waited and we were never hit into.
The course has a lot of open expanses which can make it "seem" like an easy run. But the distance and layout requires well placed shots across each hole if you want to score low.
great afternoon
Great course, always enjoy playing this course, a little slow in the afternoon on a weekend. Still a great place to play
Great course; inattentive staff
Have played the Olympic course many times through the years. Wonderful facility, tasty food, and an overall good value. However, the staff and the on-course marshals seem ineffective at dealing with slow play, and in particular how to handle the problem areas (i.e. group or groups holding up the course). I worked in the golf business for almost 10 years. There is a definite process for how to address players that seem either unwilling or unable to close large gaps. The people in charge only seem to come up with excuses and deliver a lot of lip service. We teed off 20 minutes late on a Saturday afternoon and it took us 5hrs and 10min to play 16 holes at which time we walked off the course. Very disappointing.
A Good Counterpart to the Olympic Course
I usually play the Olympic course at Gold Mountain; this was only my second round on the Cascade course. Despite the 90 degree weather, which dictated taking a cart, I found playing 18 holes to be pretty relaxing.
The course was in overall very good condition, with firm and fast fairways and greens. The marshals and starters did a good job of keeping the logjams on the first tee to a minimum, and pace of play was reasonably fast. The beverage/food sales staff were friendly and efficient, practice tee wasn't over-crowded, and the club drop-off/check in folks set the standard for that function.
I ended up playing rather well, in no small part assisted by the overall experience at Gold Mountain.
Love the layout and the setting
The last time I played here was over 20years ago. Recently returned to the Northwest and revisited an old favorite. New clubhouse and a second course, but the Cascade is a lot of fun with challenging holes.
Great course
This is the first time I played this course that wasn't in a tournament. This course is a good course, not quite as good as the Olympic but close. Great conditions for the greens, played firm and fast. Amazing deal, I played for $14. Only trouble I had was reading the greens but that's more me than the course.
Worth the drive, excellent course.
Heard so much about Gold Mountain, so finally decided to drive out from Seattle and play. Had 8:30 tee time to play Cascade, excellent pace of play. Finished round in 4 hours walking. Couple hills but nothing bad. Greens are in good shape, rolled fast. Tree lined so staying in fairway is ideal. Great course, can't wait to go play Olympic course next.
Wonderful course
This is my first time visit.
It is the best course that I have been played.
I will go to play again.
Beautiful back nine
First time to Gold Mountain. Cascade front 9 were very enjoyable, and the back 9 were interesting holes and beautiful. Will look forward to another round on Cascade or Olympic courses.
Old reliable
Cascade at GM is a relablly good course, fairly priced and always in good condition.
Great course - great value
As soon as we got around the slow foresome ahead of us, played full round in 3 1/4 hours. Greens very good. Some brown fairways but it has bee very dry. Staff always first class.
Great value proposition
My wife and I (fairly experienced golfers in our mid-40's; she'd never played the course before, I hadn't played it in several years) walked 18 early SUN a.m. and finished in 4.25 hours with another two-some that were below average golfers but 'ready' and in a cart. Straightforward layout (if you don't like some steep hills, don't walk) that won't test big hitters but course was in solid shape, greens were consistent (slower uphill but true) and the starter drove the course and kept groups moving; every staff person I came into contact with was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Easy location to access from highways or ferry and great value for an early a.m. weekend round.
Incredible Value
This course was the best course for the cost I have ever played. The course is challenging but not unfair. The price cannot be beat and the round was great. You are able to use a lot of clubs and good shots are rewarded with wayward tee shots being penalized. Course condition was excellent and the treatment by the staff was first rate.
Great course for intermediate golfers
A must play in Pacific Northeest. Course is in great shape - carts are well maintained & staff are knowledgeable & friendly.
