Hole 4 at Old Corkscrew is a reachable par 4, but there's a lot of danger to avoid. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 02/23/2018

One of the Best
Great course having played many Nicklaus designed layouts I will say this tops them all. It’s beautiful, challenging, fair test demanding all your clubs with perfect greens and is in great condition. Greens are awesome tough for sure but bunkers are set such that your misses still give you a chance for par assuming you put and chip well. This layout has no homes around it providing the best scenery around... par fives are tough yet gettable and the par threes are fun. Love this course...
Staff is solid and the practice area is excellent.
I played with my son we are both 2hncp players and would highly recommend this course. Keep in mind play the proper tees/ yardage’s for your ability to make this more fun...it’s hard from the tips be aware...but very fair from the white tees..
Good luck
The course was beautiful
The course was one of most difficult & challenging courses I have ever played .,we had a great time playing it . I don't think it's for the 18 handicappers & above
Love it everytime
Course is so challenging, worth every penny. Great views and will return again and again!
Nice Track
Played later in the day. Course was in excellent condition. Played unimpeded on the front nine, and then go bogged down on the back coming up on a 5-some which caused us to not be able to finish 18. Overall, though, an enjoyable experience
Disappointed
For the money you pay, greens were slow, Sand traps need some work. Won’t play again till it is in better shape. Layout was great, friendly staff though.Definitely need to play more than once to know the course.
SWFL Gem
If you’re looking for a premium golfing experience, this is the place to do it. Course has no houses surrounding the property and it feels like you’re secluded in the wilderness. The course was looking and playing great. I would definitely recommend this Jack Nicklaus Signature!
Best Golf Course in SW Florida
I played with my boyfriend this past Monday and there is no better course to play than Old Corkscrew in SWFL. Course is in pristine condition and $240 was definitely worth it. Hospitality inside and outside the pro shop was amazing. Cant say enough about this course. My #1 referred golf course!
Disappointed as quality has changed
I have played this course many times in the past. I was very disappointed in the quality and speed of greens as this had previously not been a problem
A challenge
An extremely challenging and often frustrating course that nevertheless keeps me coming back for more. Its as if i feel i need to beat this course. Plus you cant beat the surroundings.
punishing course
The course was in good shape although the greens were slow. I thought it was unfairly punishing. You’d hit a good shot and it would roll off into the water, trap or woods. Although I’m an average golfer I’m used to playing on a difficult course. My home course has a 137 slope from the forward tees, but it is fair. IMO Old Corkscrew is not.
Not worth the money!!!!!!!
The greens are some of the worst in SWF for $200 a round. And that’s a deal according to there normal price. Supposed to of had a fungus 6 months ago on greens and it still shows. Played there 2 years ago and gnats were horrible. Thought it was just that day. It wasn’t. They were horrible again. I will NEVER GO BACK. THAT BAD. Plenty of other courses for a better price and better conditions.
Great course layout
Very challenging course with excellent layout
Unfortunately issues with all the greens
Very slow and not true
Apparently they are recovering
This made it a very frustrating round of golf
I wished they would have made people aware of this in advance and price should be reduced
I played this course a couple years ago and greens were amazing
Not so this time!
Had I known I would not have played as I place great importance on the quality of the greens
Love the course....but
We have played the course many times over the years but this had to be the slowest round ever, nearly 5 hours with no marshall in site. Do better guys@
"OC Great Conditions!" NO WAY
Having played Old Corkscrew countless times over the last 20 years. Let year we putted on green painted dirt. This year the greens were equally bad in another way. They were probably running ~6 on the Stimpmeter. This after getting email advertising "Old Corkscrew is in Great Condition". Paying $270 pp for a round here is a joke and an absolute ripoff. This was a weekend round. It appeared that the greens hadn't been cut for days and the perimeter of the greens even longer a seen in the photo. I had talked with the pro shop staff, they took my name and said they would share with the GM. Did I get a call? Nope. At $270+ per round comes with expectations and Old Corkscrew comes falls grossly short. My groups days of paying $1100 per round are over until there is a significant change. The new ownership has failed to make this place better and we are very disappointed.
Greens were very slow-almost shaggy. Otherwise I enjoy playing this course.
Not worth the price
Played here for the first time 3/3/24 and was greeted by a very friendly staff. The practice facilities are first rate. This is a wonderful layout but that is where it ends. Absolutely the worst greens I have ever played and I am 71 years old so have seen it all in my day. We were out at 8:22 and freshly cut but were the bumpiest slowest greens I have ever played. Could not tell you what grass was as I have never seen it on any greens I have seen I the area. Definitely not worth the greens fee of $240 that we paid which is why we played in 3 hrs as no one was there as I guess the were smarter than us.
Great layout/ poor conditions
Course has a great layout and amazing potential, however the greens were very slow and the bunkers need some care. Could be a gem with some better care
