Will return and enjoy
Everything was good . Nothing to criticize.
Play here if you get a chance.
Saltleaf
I’d played the former Raptor Bay several years ago. I feel the overall condition of the course was better. The greens are still very firm but rolled pretty well. The consistency from green to green pace wise was off. But under the circumstances i didn’t have a big issue with it. It just is not a $200/$190/$180 course. It is overpriced.
Course was in great condition
Enjoyed the course, layout is fantastic. Large fairways but challenging course. Would recommend to anyone.
Pristine conditions, no range
The only thing this is missing is a practice facility that reflects the quality of the course. Hitting into a net of 50 yards on mats is brutal. Everything else is great.
Excellent but
Excellent course but like all Naples public golf...well overpriced.
Gone Down Hill !!
Played this course several times due to lack of public courses around Naples, excessive greens fees for very average course with no amenities. Place shuts down at 6 pm all doors locked !!!
Starter and his cohort on April 5th at 3 o clock. Was a total jerk !!!!!!!!! Too much to get into here but should be fiired !!!
This is a case where the previous course name was Raptor Bay and was a tremendous value and course with a great staff !! .purchased , modified and ruined. New owner is probably clueless on the issues that will continue to destroy the future of his course. I would never recommend this course to anyone !!!
Great Nee Course!
This course used to be Raptor Bay. Was good then. Much improved now with new ownership. The holes are now much different and the greens are firm and run well. They have a short term range in place which is adequate. Good putting greens. Clubhouse has a good place for food and drinks after to round out the experience.
Premium course worth the price
Naples does not have enough highly ranked, premium courses to a visitor that is not joined to a local private course.
Most other destinations have public top end courses to play. This js a nice addition to the Npales area.
Over priced
I was excited to play this course for the first time. Surprised the range is off matts into a net with no plan to install one. Some holes are unique and some are straight with no character. Landscaping is colorless and boring. No bunkers on the course but there are sandy waste areas. The stacked sod bordering the waste areas creates a bumper on some shots which is really strange.
Greens are humongous so a GIR can easily lead to a 3 putt.
Bottom line: interesting course, but severely overpriced.
Ragtop
For a resort-style course it was superb. Used to playing difficult courses in FL that are not resort-style. Very wide open course. Difficulty is in not knowing where the water comes into the course.
Definately Give It a Try
I was a fan of the old Raptor Bay course - but - I am an even bigger fan of the new Saltleaf. From the moment you hand over your bags at the bag drop to the beverage afterward - the experience was like being a 'member for a day'. The course redesign was creative yet not overwhelming. My wife is a new player and never once felt over-challenged. My advice to anyone would be to give it a try.
