Broad Run Golfer's Club
About
Designed by Rees Jones, Broad Run Golfer's Club boasts one of the best layouts in the area. The course sprawls across over 370 acres of rolling hills countryside. The dramatic elevations are definitely not something you would expect from a golf course that is conveniently situated so close to downtown Philadelphia. The elevated tees feel as though they're in the clouds and mature trees frame most of the holes. There are hazards lurking throughout the golf course including swampy marshlands and tall, dense grasses that are all just waiting to swallow errant shots. It is a challenging layout no doubt but it is made more player friendly with generous fairways and Jones was also light on the bunkering. One of the most difficult and scenic holes is the par-5 15th. This hole plays uphill, featuring a blind tee shot to a plateau green surrounded by trees.

Challenging round of golf
A challenging course with tough greens - you’ll be rewarded by staying in the fairways. Friendly staff and the course is in good shape. The bar is a must in the patio !
Nice layout. What little staff there was were friendly enough, but it’s understaffed to be sure. Course is in good condition apart from the tee boxes, which were dreadful.
Brutal pace of play
Early morning Saturday round, course was already 10-15 mins behind at the first tee. Well over 5 hour round, should not happen when paying $100+ for a round. Course itself is still awesome, one of my favorites.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Your feedback helps us do better. We are looking into this issue and hope to resolve it promptly. Thank you for visiting Broad Run Golfer's Club. We hope you'll give us another try in the future.
Great course, no water available is crazy
This was my first time on the course as we were in the area for a family vacation and my son and I sneak away for a round each year on the trip.
Positives: Staff was very friendly. Cart was brought to our car in the parking lot before we had even shut off the engine. Very helpful staff to navigate around. Pro shop and bar staff were great to talk with. When our fourth showed up, he was driven down to the practice area, which is not a long walk, but it was a nice helping touch from the staff. I loved the layout. We are from a flat area, so I enjoy the challenges of elevation changes and blind shots. Many of the holes offered a spot to miss, with slopes down to the green or the fairway. If you ended up on the wrong side, in a bunker, you were in trouble. I loved that need to think your way around. Greens were in great shape. This course is not walkable. It's probably half a mile from the ninth green to 10 tee. Then even longer from the 18th green back to the clubhouse.
Negatives: No discount for a junior golfer was a little disappointing. Tee sheet was nearly full for a Wednesday, so they obviously don't need to bring additional play with the discount. We played on a day when it was 95 degrees and humid and were shocked there was not drinking water on the course. I believe there were stands for the jugs to go in (definitely in the practice area), but they were empty. I can't imagine a good reason to not have water available at any point in the summer, particularly on such a hot day.
Worth the wait
Waited a long time to play Broad Run, the price & my handicap are not really a great match. It was well worth the fees and I will be going back.
First time at the course , so we moved up a set of tees to the hybrid yellow/white to make the course play a little easier.
Routing on Monday was a little odd, we started play on 11; played through 18, then 10 & finished on front 9.. it was a difficult way to play but didn’t take away from a great experience.
Broad Run is the best public course I’ve played in southeastern PA.
It’s a 20 minute drive for me and will be in my regular rotation going forward.
I may even look into their unlimited play “membership”
Worth it ... with a special holiday deal
This is my second time playing Broad Run and under much better conditions this time.
The course is maintained beautifully and there's plenty of challenges with terrain and hazards, but the fairways are decent width. Some VERY difficult holes and you can't get out of position or you'll need ot start thinking about playing for bogey. Hero shots attempts will just get you in trouble.
Hole #1 is simply too difficult for a starting hole for even decent players. A longish par 5 that finishes up hill to a tough green to hit behind bunkers and a steep slope. And hole #2 is likely the trickiest hole out there requiring a layout drive then a longer second shot to a well-protected green. So your first taste can definitely sour your round here.
Fortunately, the greens themselves allow for decent scoring as they are a reasonable speed so you can judge your chip shots and very little undulation despite all the sloping involved to get there. And fairways are often bowl shaped, or you can favor one side or the other to use steep slopes to kick your tee shots back into the fairway.
With thick brush pretty much everywhere beyond the rough, club down and keep your tee and approach shots in play or your ball is gone.
This is normally a pricey course intended or serious golfers, but if you can a deal on GN, and can control your ball reasonably well, it's a serious golf course and worth a visit.
Good but not great
Really good deal ($45 on July 4th) but I wouldn’t pay full price. Course was in decent condition but the layout is kind of funky. Maybe the hilliest track I’ve ever played in my life. A few slopes were unreal, not easy to walk from the cart to/from the green. If you have knee or ankle issues, you’d have a difficult time walking even 10-20 yards. I’d be surprised if people don’t get injured here on a fairly regular basis. I probably won’t be going back anytime soon.
Hello, We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Broad Run Golfer's Club.
Great conditions
Great course. Played many times; if it were closer, would be my home club.

Long and challenging!!
An excellent course but not for novices. The course is long and extremely challenging. You cannot walk it; very hilly!! The scenery is breathtaking. It was my first time playing the course. I will play it again when I am in the area.
Beautiful views
Played the course for &66.00 . Great value. Course closed to a private course in condition. No water or cart beverages on course, found that bad situation. Overall a fun day.
